Palmers Lodge Swiss Cottage

All want saying wow, beautiful build ever seen. Reason I book because near drama school do short course with deaf people that why perfect near there only 4 min walk. Oh yes beautiful commen living room wow I love history. Room share with 24 people really nice respect and space also beautiful fireplace massive brilliant. Grateful have single bed upstairs really nice bed comfortable. Shower wow I use almost time in basement because more shower there. Pub nice, garden nice there have pools table and darts. Oh yes there no restaurant hot food in evening etc nothing not cleared when I read online say there so I realise there kitchen mean cooked own meal of course. Haha oh well I enjoying getting my own meal deal tesco not bad. Staff very very friendly and deaf awareness which is marvelous accessible. I will be back again in near future ☺️☺️.

The lodge is well located within a 5 minute walk of two underground stations and the flixbus stop which is right by the Finchley Road underground, and the local high street comprises anything you might need with a selection of coffee shops, pubs and restaurants, charity and grocery shops. (Note: the night train lines between Kings Cross and Swiss Cottage involve a LOT of walking to Victoria and thence to Jubilee). The building itself is massive, fun to explore with great shared spaces like the massive chandeliered TV lounge with huge fireplace, bar, conservatory and patio. The shared kitchen is well organised for multiple guests with very basic selection of cooking utensils, although it's tiny and requires shuffling/waiting at times. The dorm I stayed in was very clean, the room smelled like cedar, the heating was on in the big metal radiators, and windows cracked open so the place was warm and fresh and comfortable, the bed linens very clean and crisp. I wasn't expecting plastic coated mattress but hygienically it does make sense and I got used to quite quickly, and the mattress is quite narrow about 2.5ft, but I adjusted quickly and with the heavyily curtained bunk it felt warm and private and like being on a ship or something! The dorm door is fire safety weighted so unfortunately every time it closed it was a little noisy, however most people in the 18 berth mixed room were quite considerate and made the effort to keep quiet as much as possible. For the price, it's an incredibly good value, clean and comfortable stop, with incredible amenities and shared spaces, with friendly and helpful staff. As someone who is a light sleeper it is a bit of a gamble staying in a shared dorm; but for the location, comfort and historic building itself you can't really do better!

I liked everything there. Most of the time I visited London but it was a pleasure to sleep there. First , the price is very good then the room ( of 18!!!) was still very quiet. If you plan to visit London in solo like me, you should stay there, it's a money saver plan.

We were 2. For 30£ the night, we were in a room of 10 people. The staff was nice The room was very clean The atmosphere is friendly everywhere from the lounge to the bar. In the bar we can play pool, ps4, board games. Everything fit lovely. The only minus was the fact that as young men of 20. It a bit disturbing to share room with +60y people. Why don’t gather people from the age in rooms ? Except that, we love the place et comeback for sure.

This place is an oasis in one of the safest and well connected areas in London. There's supermarkets and wide selection of shops just 5 minutes walk away. To find a bed in Swiss Cottage for the prices Palmers Lodge offers is remarkable. The dormitories have solid bunks and single beds, no squeeks everytime someone moves! Each bed can be curtained off, has a reading light and mains/USB sockets. Add in breakfast for a nutritious start to your day and this is 5⭐️s all day long. Palmers attracks a good cross section of travellers, quiet, respectful and sociable. Consider yourself fortunate if you've found this place, there's none better.
