THE POSITIVES -Location is very convenient, one blocks from Kensington Gardens in Hyde Park and 2 blocks from a Metro (Tube) station -Staff - very friendly -Room very clean, same with bathroom and kitchenette -Bed, extra comfortable -price is right THE NEGATIVES -First of all, that photo you show was NOT what greeted me when I arrived at the property and it didn't look as clean as that when I arrived! -There was a lot of construction on the street, and frequent bunches of garbage right on the sidewalk. Quite unsightly. -Although most of the room was clean, this was not accurate about the walls. Lots of chipped areas and 'repair' holes that should have been filled in -No cupboards in the room. except a narrow closet to hand coats, and so on. You have to take clothes in/out of your suitcase. The only shelf in the room was a very high shelf at the top of the closet where they had the iron! No stools -Kitchenette. Sure has everything you need but items tores way high and no stool provided and plugs for appliances under the kitchen counter, so you have to bend down to access them! -Room advertised as a double studio. Not exactly. it is a very tiny room with a double bed. - No place to relax and sit down - no desk. Property claims the fold down flap under the TV is the desk. you have to be kidding me. It is very flimsy nd in bad shape and when you put this flap down, you have to sit on the bed, because the chair in the corner is useless -Phone to reception never worked, so you had to go down to reception to make reauest or comments, Ridiculous -WiFi connection,. very sporadic and unrealiable. -We were without water in the entire building. Couldn't flush toiler, couldn't take shower, all because a tiny valve that needed replacing. Outrageous -laptop safe on the floor in the closet! *regarding the phone and WiFi issues, staff claimed that it was because of construction. Excuse me, if a hotel offers this, make sure it works all the time, never mind the construction. This property has changed names 3 times. My opinion is that it is painfully obvious that property owners have no interest in upgrading their property to standards. There is no point in berating receptionist, who are very courteous. All above issues are not their fault. Owners frankly are irresponsible Advice re size of rooms etc. I will definitely be more diligent and ask for measurements. If I had, I would have NOT booked here in a million years. I'm not a big person but it was difficult to move around that tiny space!
