I recently stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel London - Charing Cross, and unfortunately, my experience was less than satisfactory. Upon arrival, I was assigned an old room where the heating did not work. To make matters worse, there was no adapter available for charging my phone and other devices.
When I approached the reception desk for assistance, the young lady there suggested the best option was to leave my phone at the reception. This was quite surprising and not the assistance I expected. Additionally, the bathroom only had a single towel provided, despite the fact that we had booked the room for two people.
However, I must commend Wilson, a staff member at the hotel, who went above and beyond to help me find a suitable adapter. He brought me one, then quickly returned with another when the first one didn't work. His effort was truly appreciated and made my stay a little more bearable.
In contrast, the recommendation from the receptionist, Marta, to purchase an adapter was not what I would consider a good customer service solution. Overall, while the location is excellent, the service and facilities did not meet my expectations. I hope the management takes these issues seriously and improves the experience for future guests.
