For the most part this is a very good hotel for the price in my opinion, with a few minor downsides. Pros: - room is nice, tidy and clean, and has plenty of plug sockets. The beds are very comfortable. Nice big TV with all the Freeview channels and has access to an HDMI port so you can plug in a laptop or tablet to the screen. Plenty of towels in the bathroom, plenty of pillows on the beds. No proper wardrobe, but a hanging rail with coat hangers provided and hooks for coats by the door. - hotel location is fantastic. Literally 50 metres walk and you're in the little shopping arcade with shops, coffee and food places. 25 metres or so more and you're on the street with choice of three supermarkets. There's also MANY restaurants and cafes nearby. The tube is less than five minutes walk and there's plenty of bus stops serving multiple routes. - despite the convenient location, the street outside the hotel is very quiet at night. As it's a side street there's no traffic and even the proximity to the O2 Academy venue doesn't seem to cause any unnecessary noise. - staff are lovely, friendly, and professional. Was checked in by a very helpful and polite Italian man (I am sorry, I can't remember his name - possibly Francesco?) on arrival and the process was very simple and stress-free. Check out is even better, if everything is paid for you can just deposit your room keys and leave. - I know some people don't like it but I personally love that you have to ask if you want your room cleaned - I never think it's necessary to have it done daily by default, and reception staff are very helpful with providing anything you need like clean cups or extra towels. The system of requesting a room clean eliminates the annoying knocking of "housekeeping?" on doors every morning and it means the cleaning staff aren't constantly rattling carts and equipment around, trying to access rooms that people don't even necessarily need/want to be cleaned. Also housekeeping staff were very polite and friendly on the few occasions I encountered them. - being able to take refills of milk, teabags and coffee from reception whenever you want is fantastic if you drink a lot of hot drinks! Cons: - aircon wasn't working for most of my stay - the room was boiling hot (thermostat said 24C) even at night in December. Very uncomfortable as I like a cooler room. Staff kindly gave me a rather rickety electric fan to use as they said they wouldn't be able to get anyone to look at the air conditioning for several days. It magically started working on my final day - presumably someone was able to fix it finally! - relatedly, not being able to open the window even a tiny crack is amazingly annoying. Not only would it have solved the temperature issues in my room, but I like to have some fresh air to refresh the air and blow away food smells after eating in the room. I know not being able to open it fully is due to safety so I don't expect that but I can't understand why the windo
