Lombok Lodge is an absolute gem of a hotel tucked into a quiet and beautiful stretch of coastline. It is family-owned and the personal attention to detail and quality shows - the owners are regularly on site, introduce themselves to guests, and put immense care into ensuring an environment that is restful, beautiful, and welcoming. The staff at the lodge are attentive and informed - every need is anticipated and met. The massages at the spa were top notch and the masseuses clearly know what they are doing and speak good English if you need to communicate any special needs (this is not a given on Lombok, which is much less developed than Bali). Rooms are spacious, immaculately clean, and overlook the pool and the ocean, sparkling beyond. The views are tremendous. The food is absolutely top notch - well spiced, locally sourced, fragrant, and delicious, by far the best food we had in either Lombok or Bali. Weather permitting, tables are set up outside and dinners are lit by gentle candlelight. There is often casual conversation among guests - it's a small boutique hotel, you'll see one another throughout your stay - but privacy is also respected. Breakfast and dinner are included in room rates and the latter unfold in a series of small courses that are thoughtfully differentiated each night. Decor is spare, elegant, and comfortable. Downsides: perhaps in an attempt at eco consciousness, there are no menus. Almost everything is done via QR codes and you'll have a virtual concierge who communicates via WhatsApp. If you're not phone savvy or you're looking to unwind away from your mobile, this may be irksome. At meals I didn't enjoy having to scroll through the cocktail or breakfast menu on my phone and fielding WhatsApp messages during the day about daily menus, massages, itineraries, etc got a tiny bit intrusive. By the same token, the virtual concierge was super responsive and it was easier in many ways than having to seek out a human being to answer questions or make plans. A final quibble: à la carte dining and off menu items such as alcohol and lunch were expensive, marked up more than other places on the island we visited. Excursions and cars are also quite dear, but the quality of outings and drivers is very high, so it didn't bother me. We spent a day at their bagno di Gili property on Gili Meno and even though the weather was crummy we loved it - amazing grilled lunch, lovely set up, super attentive staff, and so nice to take the lodge boat right off the dock. We spent four nights at the lodge and would have loved to stay longer, it was so restful and gorgeous. Our final day was spent enjoying the infinity pool, snorkeling right off of the pier, and soaking in the endless views and vibes. I even borrowed a hotel bicycle and pedaled to the local market, which was close by and fascinating. I could not recommend this property more - it was incredibly restful, beautiful, and pleasant to be welcomed there. We truly felt care
