I travel to Wakefield for business 2/3 nights a week & I stayed here after a disastrous stay at Citylodge hotel, which I would steer clear from for eternity. So Limes Lodge seemed like a castle in comparison - I liked the historic building, the bed was comfortable, the room clean, good transport links & the area felt space although not close to town, but walkable. I paid £65/night. A few glitches - the noise from the M62 is very considerable if you like to keep your windows open at night, so I had to close them to be able to sleep. The bathroom was chilly one of the mornings, and I couldn't see any way to activate the radiator. When you check-out, you leave the keys in an open basket by reception - so anyone could take it & mess up the room, which you could then be blamed for later - this didn't happen, but it does seem like they need to change the way people check out. The fire alarm sounded early in the morning on my second night & the fire brigade attended and was apparently caused by a known problem with a fire door, so clearly an ongoing maintenance issue that ruined everyone's sleep. I would stay here again but be mindful of the above.
