Hotel Acapulco

Good enough

We booked this just as a base for a 4 day visit and just wanted something cheap and cheerful, we were very pleasantly surprised. The hotel reception, lobby and bar area really nice and the pool and surrounding area is also lovely. The rooms are maybe a little dated although nothing worth complaining about, they are very clean and as we had a corner room the balcony was huge. We would definitely return.

Arrived today. Had checked in online in advance, great feature. Friendly, efficient key collection with Clara. Towel swans and petals on the bed, as it's our wedding anniversary trip, nice touch. Spotless room, with corner balcony, and fridge. Small pool area to be expected, due to central location. Very positive, so far.

This hotel was part of our Barcelona F1 GP package. I would not have chosen the hotel, as I would have never chosen the resort. For me personally, the resort is not for me, but the Hotel Acapulco was perfectly described by a fellow guest, as an oasis in the middle of the rest. The hotel is immaculately clean. The room was basic, but cleaned every day to a high standard. The main reception, bar area, pool area and restaurant are immaculate and the staff were all wonderful. The food was buffet style and was nice enough. I can highly recommend the hotel, but the resort for me, never again.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Hotel itself is ideally situated in a short walking distance from beach, shopping, bus station and attractions. Clean spacious hotel with lovely decor. Comfortable rooms with balcony, shower/bath, Air con, TV, small fridge and safe provided. Kettle's available for a 10 euro deposit, refunded on check out. Lovely restaurant which opens out to the pool. Offering a huge buffet breakfast, catering for all tastes. Lunch and Dinner options also. Enjoyable relaxing stay and would highly recommend for families, couples and solo travellers!

Pros: * The hotel itself is extremely well decorated/modern/nice spaces. * The hotel/pool is extremely clean and well maintained all round. Fresh towels every day. * The pool area is lovely. The sunbeds are a bit swished together, but always managed to get one. Bar area next to pool which serves variety of drinks * Every single staff member was lovely. * The hotel is in a brilliant location. Next to all the shops/bars/restaurants. And small walk to the beach and castle. * Consistent hot water and good pressure in shower. Cons: * There was no air con for the first few days (not right time of year). But this meant the rooms were VERY warm and we had to open the door. But the noise from the streets kept us awake all night. Also, there's no bug screens, so got bitten! * The room we stayed in was not advertised anywhere and was quite out dated to the ones on website. Room was extremely basic, could have done with re-vamp. Also could do with more hangers and a full length mirror. * No tea/coffee facilities in the room. I know you can buy this downstairs, but for us Brits at least, this is quite a biggy and you get this in most other hotels. Overall, our stay was good. However, going half board and having to pay for all your drinks at the hotel did get a bit pricey for us after a week's stay. We'd be happy to return if it was just for a few nights, but probably wouldn't return for the week. A few little touches and this hotel could be perfect.
