4night trip with my Mother. Age: Late 30's and Early 60's. Positives: 1) Views. Negatives: 1) Check-In- had to wait a good ten minutes to be noticed by someone walking past that we needed attention. Not the welcome we were expecting. 2) Twin Room situated in the Coach House. Only 1 luggage rack for the room meaning other luggage needed to be stationed on the desk. Beds not comfy- metal sprung beds as opposed to Memory Foam. Pillows need to be improved as two is too many, but one not enough- felt like bricks! Room and En-Suite hadn't seen a duster for more than a month. I felt inclined to write 'Dust Me' in the artwork. The Bath plug hole needs to be seen to as is incredibly slow draining- possibly needing hair removal. The floor had not been swept for at least a week. The soap dispenser did not work, and nor did the bottle which had been broken and not replaced/fixed. Light on mirror in Bathroom broken. 3) Signage around the hotel needs improving- if you are in the Coach House good luck. The Coach House itself is set over 2 floors above the storage facilities for the hotel. The stairwell from the Car Park is not sufficient for those who are carrying large luggage as is very tight in places and in need of some serious upkeep. Looked tired and tatty. 4) Food. The email we received from the hotel prior to our stay told us we'd need to book with Reception for the Restaurant. We rang mid-journey on our way, only to be told the Restaurant was fully booked. The first full day we were there, we asked at the entrance to the Restaurant if there was a table available, but that we hadn't booked. Told FULLY BOOKED. On the second full day, we asked after Breakfast if we could book for that evening, only to be told FULLY BOOKED. We asked at the same time, for the following day and Hurrah was told yes there is availability. Are you seriously telling me that you have a restaurant that cannot cater for all of your paying guests. When we did sit down for the Evening Meal in the Restaurant, the atmosphere was Cold, Unwelcoming, and Hurried as we'd been sat in the Padarn Dining Room Conservatory rather than the Victoria Dining Room which seemed to be reserved only for those who are on Coach Tours who'd pre-planned their dinners at Breakfast. We were asked half way through our first-course being our Main Course, if we wanted a dessert as the 'Chef wants to go home'! Not all of us want to sit in the Bar and eat mediocre food of an evening. Breakfast was nothing special. If you are part of a Coach Tour- you'll have a lovely time at this hotel establishment, and be welcomed warmly. If you aren't you'd be better off going elsewhere. I've been coming to Llanberis for the last 3 years- twice over Christmas and also in September 2024. This will be the first and last time I visit and stay at The Royal Victoria Hotel Snowdonia.
