The Cartford Inn

A really lovely place to stay. Warm and friendly welcome, beautifully presented throughout and very comfortable and clean rooms. I had a very large walk in shower which was perfect and I genuinely couldn't fault anything from the moment I walked in, to walking out. Staff were knowledgeable and friendly, food was cooked to perfection.

Should have known when we saw the tumbleweed blowing across the car park on Thursday evening at 7pm on the Thursday before Christmas. You prices are very overpriced I doubt you will survive, This is not Paris in the shadow of the Eifel Tower, It is a pub next to the sewage infected river Wyre. Good luck in January!!!

Overpriced small room We booked what was described as a "Luxury Double Room" at £200/night. Our room was very small, just enough to walk round the bed. The mattress on the bed has seen better days. The en-suite shower room was OK. I wouldn't describe this as luxury in any way! Breakfast was good. The location is peaceful with nice views. The staff were friendly. Due to the poor value i wouldn't recommend staying here

Excellence in the river What an excellent find. Cool, quirky, fun, great staff, excellent food, lovely room. Best place we have stayed in for a very long time.

Perfect retreat Very friendly and professional. The Cartford Inn is in a lovely setting with views over the river and fields. Good food and excellent service. One very minor issue, the bed was soft on one side and hard on the other, but apart from that everything was perfect and I'll definitely be back.

As a couple, we were thrilled to revisit the Cartford Inn after previously enjoying its excellent food and superb service. This time, we decided to make it extra special by inviting the whole family to celebrate a big birthday. Pre-booking was simple and efficient, which set the tone for what we hoped would be a fantastic evening. Unfortunately, things took a disappointing turn early on. Our starters took an hour to arrive, and once we finished them, it was another hour before our main courses were served. Throughout the evening, we felt neglected, with no one checking in to see if we were enjoying our meals. What started with high expectations ended up being far from the memorable experience we had hoped for.
