Casas de São Bento

WOW! This apartment was SUPER clean and lovely! It was adorable as well! The bed was comfy, the bathroom was roomy and the living room/kitchen area was great! The entire apartment was very well appointed and arranged. Ana, the host, was amazing to work with throughout my booking and stay. We could have easily stayed here a week but only stayed a night before moving on with our itinerary. I highly recommend this apartment. We had a rental car and parking was a bit tricky however there is a public parking garage down the street; easy walk. And as in most European hotels, there’s no elevator and there are stairs! Side note: the Italian restaurant RIGHT next to the apartment was yummy! And there is a wonderful Thai massage place just around the corner! Very reasonable!

Meine Freundin und ich verbrachten im Zuge unserer Portugalreise 4 Nächte im Casas de Sao Bento. Appartement: Das Appartement ist sehr geräumig, bietet eine große Küche, ein schönes Wohnzimmer sowie ebenfalls ein sehr geräumiges Badezimmer und Schlafzimmer. Die Sauberkeit war makellos, es wurde zudem jeden Tag gereinigt. Der Stil verbindet den Altbau mit modernen Elementen, wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Lage: Die Lage ist ideal als Ausgangspunkt, um die Stadt zu erkunden oder auch um die Naturparks die etwas außerhalb liegen zu besuchen. Restaurants, Bars oder Cafés sind fußläufig nach wenigen Minuten erreichbar. Ein öffentliches 24/7 Parkhaus (15€ pro Tag) ist ebenfalls fußläufig erreichbar. Service: Das Reinigungspersonal hat jeden Tag nach dem Rechten gesehen und Handtücher ausgetauscht oder auch mal die Spülmaschine ausgeräumt, was wir nicht erwartet hatten und uns während des Urlaubs umso mehr gefreut hatte. Alles in allem eine klare Empfehlung meinerseits!

Just a delightful hotel room, spacious and accommodating, with amazing views of the Parliament building. Lots of room, with bedroom, sitting room/kitchen, and large bathroom. Beautifully decorated with some antiques. Bonus of some port on the table for our use and water bottles in the fridge. Good location on the edge of a vibrant neighborhood.

Vriendelijk onthaal, de garage is een pluspunt! Mooie nette kamer en leuk dat er op de gang een mini keukentje is voor gratis koffie en water! De ligging is erg goed, het parlement ligt rechtover het hotel meteen de eerste bezienswaardigheid ☺️ wij deden alles te voet van hieruit!

Cosa mi è piaciuto: La posizione, molto comoda, abbastanza silenziosa e tranquilla anche la sera tardi. La cordialità della ragazza all'accoglienza, sempre disponibile e sorridente. La possibilità di utilizzare la cucinetta dietro la reception e di prendere le bottigliette d'acqua gratuitamente in qualsiasi momento, aspetto davvero molto gradito. La stanza, ben climatizzata (con possibilità di controllare il condizionatore dal telecomando), letto spazioso e cuscini comodi, bagno ampio, armadio a scaffali di giuste dimensioni, ma, ahimè, forse un po' scomoda la pianificazione degli spazi. In particolare, prevedere una porta che prosegue sulla parete della doccia (in gran parte trasparente) per "isolare" il gabinetto, l'ho trovato poco pratico, e soprattutto fa perdere gran parte dello spazio di passaggio. Comodità per gli spostamenti. Considerando i prezzi assai ridotti, rispetto ad altre città europee, dei servizi di taxi e ncc (come Uber e Bolt), spostarsi dall'hotel al centro è davvero rapido e immediato, ma comunque se amate camminare arriverete in centro in 20 minuti senza correre. Cosa non mi è piaciuto: La divisione degli spazi nel bagno, come già specificato, e doterei la stanza di qualche prodotto in più per la cura del corpo, ma comunque nulla di troppo rilevante. Nonostante la buona insonorizzazione della stanza, trovandosi la struttura al piano terra, diciamo che qualche rumore si sente (seppur non disturbante a tal punto da rovinare il sonno) e manca un po' di privacy. La nostra stanza dava proprio sul marciapiede di fronte alla strada che passa sotto al Palazzo del Parlamento, e le tende coprivano appena. Eravamo costretti a stare nella penombra anche in pieno giorno (poiché è davvero un peccato accendere le luci con il sole) con le imposte chiuse o appena aperte. Però forse non si può fare molto al riguardo. C'erano altre stanze che davano dalla parte opposta, non so su cosa affaccino ma probabilmente la vista, in quel caso, è migliore.

Very nice suite with all the amenities you would need for extended stay. Cable TV that offers plenty of english speaking channels to watch. Close to all down town attractions that you would be able to walk to. There is a bus line 4 minutes away that will also take you to most parts of the city.

It’s a great place to stay, center of the old city, very convenient location (bus stop near by, metro station about 10 min walking distance, close to historic area, various restaurants around). There is a good isolation, no any noise from outside. This apartment was well equipped with everything what you need after long day excursions. Hostess provided local Porto vine and Portuguese famous pastries. It was delicious!!! If we will go to Lisbon again, we will stay only here. There is 5+++++ apartment. Thank you for wonderful hospitality!!!!

This small "hotel" was very comfortable for us. I can see from the reviews that many of the less satisfied were staying in the rooms facing the street. We had #7 which had a shared patio in the back. It was quiet and comfortable. There is staff on-site only during the daytime. Access to public transportation is very convenient in either direction, even Tram 28 runs just 1 minute from the hotel. We were quite satisfied with our stay. Better character than the typical hotel.

Absolutely loved our short stay at this charming little hotel. A very unassuming looking place from the outside, we actually walked past it a couple of times because the front door just looks like the front door to a house. The young woman who checked us in was super friendly and spent quite a bit of time going over some must see attractions and pointing them out on the map for us to visit during our short stay. Our room was absolutely lovely, with a shared terrace area at the rear of the building. The shared ‘kitchenette’ area included complimentary tea and coffee facilities and bottle water which was a nice touch. Located in proximity to several restaurants and a nearby tram stop. Would definitely stay again.
