Glaros Royal Beach Hotel

Das Glaros Royal Beach (ehemals Cretan Blue Beach) ist an sich ein sehr schönes Hotel am Meer und dennoch mitten im quirligen Zentrum von Limenas Chersonisou. Die Zimmer sind schön, groß und sauber, ein extra Plus gibt es für die Dusche. Die Türen ließen sich schön schließen und waren dicht, was wir bisher auch in sehr guten Hotels eher selten erlebt haben. Der kleine Rooftop Pool ist auf den ersten Blick ein Highlight, leider aber mangelt es auf der Dachterrasse doch so an einigem. Der Pool wird nicht gereinigt und es befindet sich keine Dusche auf dem Dach (obwohl in den Poolregeln darauf hingewiesen wird, sich vor dem Baden zu duschen). Dadurch, dass der Pool wirklich winzig ist und dann die Leute verschwitzt und eingecremt in den Pool steigen, ist das Wasser trüb und manches Mal (je nachdem, wie viel am/im Pool los war) haben wir uns wirklich geekelt. Ein Witz sind auch die 8 Sonnenliegen (ohne Schirm!) am Pool, viel zu wenig für die Anzahl an Zimmern, die das Hotel hat. Dafür gibt es eine riesengroße, schön möblierte Dachterrasse mit einer Bar, die aber - verstehe es, wer will - erst ab 20Uhr geöffnet ist. Der ganze schöne Platz wird also kaum genützt, es könnten hier entweder viel mehr Sonnenliegen aufgestellt werden oder aber die Rooftopbar auch untertags bespielt werden. So könnte man auch vermeiden, dass sich teilweise lautstarke Jugendliche oder auch andere Gäste den Tag auf der Dachterrasse (die eben komplett unbeaufsichtigt ist) mit mitgebrachten alkoholischen Getränken vertreiben, sich aufführen wie die Irren und dann auch noch ihren Müll hinterlassen. Die schönen, neuen Möbel werden vermutlich so nicht lange schön bleiben. Schade auch, dass Frühstück und Abendessen ausschließlich im Schwesterhotel Glaros Beach eingenommen werden können, obwohl das Glaros Royal Beach so eine wunderschöne Hotelterrasse besitzt. Der Speisesaal im Schwesterhotel ist deshalb ständig komplett überfüllt, laut, dreckig und lädt nicht zum längeren Verweilen ein. Fazit: Gutes Hotel mit einigem Verbesserungspotential.

I travelled as a party of 3, 2 adults, 1 child aged 11 on a half board basis. The hotel is beachfront in centre of Hersonissos, with restaurants and bars nearby. Hotel staff were brilliant especially staff on reception who were very helpful. We arrived late at night, there was mini fridge in room however no water, so if you arriving late make sure you have water as I then had to go searching for water after midnight. Rooms are good size, cleaned daily and nicely decorated, kettle is provided but no tea / coffee.. strange. Good choice at breakfast, evening not so great, however we swapped a couple of times and had lunch rather than evening meal, then ate out the rest of the week, I wish we had gone just bed and breakfast rather than half board, but that was a mistake on my part. Meals are served in the sister hotel, next door but 1, only a 2 minute walk, the pool is also at sister hotel which is small and come afternoon full of groups of young girls and lads, in fact I would say this isn’t a family hotel. The pool area was also dirty, I bought some wipes and cleaned the beds and side tables as they were sticky. The usual reserving of sunbeds was an issue and I did witness 1 family reserving extra beds in the sun along with some poolside, which given that there are not enough beds to accommodate guests was unacceptable !! Lovely hotel, probably wouldn’t visit again as I feel the resort is a party place for teenagers, but that’s not a reflection on the hotel, just Hersonissos in general. Also note that the coach doesn’t drop off outside hotel, its a 350m walk from bus stop, I guess because the hotel is beachfront and coach wouldn’t get down the narrow street, it wasn’t a problem for us but worth mentioning.

Lovely hotel. Rooms excellent, large room with good hairdryer, kettle and cups but no teabags, milk etc. Small balcony. Our room overlooked garden so views poor, didn’t spend any time on balcony. Food nice .. everything you could want for breakfast, limited choice at evening meal. Staff excellent especially Ernest and lady on reception. Went out of their way to help. Ernest always found us a table at breakfast and is very friendly. The hotel has a restaurant overlooking beach which is very popular, you get 25% discount there instead of evening meal at hotel. Food there very good. Be prepared to wait a very long time if you want a drink in hotel, the staff are rushing up and down steps looking after guests in restaurant on beach and hotel guests are forgotten. Would be better to have separate staff . Pool only a plunge pool with 8 beds on rooftop so lucky if you get a bed! Rooftop cocktail bar nice but a shame more people don’t use it .. each time we went we were the only ones there so no atmosphere! Beach’s nearby always busy. You can use sister hotel pool but again was busy however we found a pool with beds further along near done studio apartments which we used and just bought drinks from the bar there. Short walk to harbour where we got a small train and went up to old town. Plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance of hotel. WiFi only in lobby, when we asked at reception told we had to pay €3 per day if wanted WiFi! And €3 per day for safe in room. Hotel would be 5* with some adjustments but over all we had a lovely time .

Stunning room.. shame about view and small balcony. Rain and small shower, hairdryer, daily housekeeping and towel, amazing lighting system. Extremely friendly helpful staff on reception and housekeeping. Roof top pool with 8 sun beds. Cosy cocktail bar on am evening but no draught ales. Don't expect to drink at the hotel...you'll wait forever.. waiters are extremely busy serving food to the general public. Paying guests food was ok but very little for vegetarians but I didn't starve..the country/lemon potatoes were the best thing I ate.. delicious. Plus good salad choice. Very busy and tightly packed beaches. Quieter beach nearby is at the open air museum where you can get 2 beds and a parasol for 7 euros plus a meal and a drinkbrought to you by a very pleasant man. Also worth a visit is the little sea life centre.. v friendly staff and creatures 😁 Had I done my homework and not had to rush the finding of a holiday then I wouldn't ever have come to hersonissos as it's too busy for me but as hotels go I can't fault it.. shame about some of the staff.

Очень очень понравился, самый лучший отель, где доводилось отдыхать. Все супер, персонал, комнаты, еда. Комната очень комфортная, прекрасный вид, кондиционер, что особенно приятно в жару. На берегу моря и 100 м до города. Очень рекомендуем 😊

Mauvaise expérience dans cet hôtel.. Je déconseille ! L'hôtel n'a pas sa propre plage, la petite piscine sur le toît est belle mais pas suffisamment entretenue, je suis d'ailleurs tombée sur une dalle qui s'est fissurée sous mes pieds ! Le buffet est peu varié, répétitif et pas réapprovisionné. Les plats sont tièdes, le goût médiocre. De plus, armez-vous de patience pour commander les boissons car les serveurs, même si ils sont très symphatiques, sont plus occupés à servir les clients du restaurant à la carte qu'à prendre votre commande. La vaisselle n'est pas propre. Hôtel qui pousse à la consommation. N'imaginez pas pouvoir profiter du rooftop le soir sans consommer, il n'est pas autorisé de s'asseoir sans commander. Acceuil minimaliste, le réceptioniste vous réclame la taxe de séjour dés votre arrivée puis vous tend la carte de votre chambre sans aucune explication. Pas de permanance à la réception. Pas de trousse de secours dans l'hôtel, ni de medecin, pas de spa ni de fitness (ceux-ci se trouve dans l'hôtel partenaire quelques mètres plus loin) Pas digne d'un 4 étoiles. Honteux d'avoir payé une telle somme pour séjourner dans cet hôtel. Pour apporter tout de même un peu de positif, sa situation géographique est satisfaite, la vue est belle et l'hôtel est moderne mais ne vaut tout de même pas la peine. Un conseil: passez votre chemin.
