Welcomed at the alley by the manager, greeted with warm smiles and great hospitality towards the kids by giving us a free upgrade to a bigger room (based on availability). Breakfast choices were simple, healthy, and fulfilling each day. Really nothing beats a slow morning looking out at the majestic mountain. The hotel staff were all approachable and easily reached via WeChat, they really went above and beyond to make sure our needs were met. Rooms were clean and spacious! They also offer a complimentary tea set, a free shuttle to an ancient town of our choice, and a free airport transfer. The hotel is a little hard to find at first, but we had no trouble getting Didi in and out daily. Would stay again if we come back to Lijiang!"

"Location and Transportation: The hotel is located in an urban village, not really remote. It's about 1.5-2km from Lijiang Ancient Town (Big Waterwheel) and accessible via an underpass. Taxis are quite quick and convenient. Environment: From the 1st-floor lobby to the 6th-floor rooms, everything is very clean and hygienic. The room type we stayed in, including the interior decoration, perfectly matched the photos uploaded by the merchant. It was very clean and hygienic, a great experience. Everything was readily available, very satisfying. There was also a small fridge for refrigeration (it had a durian smell, probably from the previous guest, it was stinky). Additionally, there's a viewing platform on the 7th-floor balcony with a great view. Unfortunately, it rained continuously in Lijiang during our stay, so we couldn't see the scenery, but you can still look around the vicinity; it's considered a high point. Value for Money: Two nights without breakfast for less than 300/day. It's decent for the off-season. They also offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner, which is quite good, but we decided against breakfast as we didn't want to get up early. Service: The staff's service attitude was excellent, truly excellent. A big thank you to the two ladies who greeted us; they proactively helped with our luggage. You can add the concierge on WeChat for any needs. They even prepare instant noodles and deliver them to your room, haha, it was a bit embarrassing. Even the cleaning aunties would greet us when we met them; thumbs up. Although it's a local chain, the service is no worse than big chains. On par with Hilton, and better than the Atour and Orange hotels we recently stayed at. They also offer free luggage storage. Downsides: Our room was located near the elevator, so we could hear the elevator noise. Conversations in the hallway were quite noticeable in the mornings and evenings. The Ctrip booking interface didn't indicate rooms at the ends of the hallway, so it's best to choose a room away from the elevator if possible. We were too lazy to bother changing rooms and didn't contact customer service."

"Everything is amazing here, my wife and I love it! We highly recommend this guesthouse and we are definitely coming back to stay here if we are traveling to Lijiang again! Located at the heart of 古城，it’s very convenient to explore the entire ancient town and get food even till late at night. The hosts (hotel owner, shop manager 小德 and front desk 小杨) are super friendly and helpful. They got our room upgraded for free due to room’s availability upon our check-in date, which we are super grateful for this! They also arranged a driver to take us to Dali on our check-out day. Last but not least, they are very thoughtful and went the extra mile to arrange transport our luggages back and forth between the nearest entrance/exit gate and their guesthouse. We really couldn’t imagine pulling the luggages by ourselves on the rocky roads 😅 so a very big thank you to the hosts and uncle!"

"One of the most satisfying parts of my Lijiang trip was booking this hotel. First off, the hotel environment is truly wonderful. I could see the snowy mountains right from my room. Since I didn't want to rush out early and come back late this trip, I set an alarm to wake up, watch the sunrise from bed, and then go back to sleep! Secondly, the staff here are incredibly nice and provide excellent service. Not only did they upgrade our room, but they also helped us arrange transportation to the ancient town and airport transfer on our last day. Every day, they'd ask us what we wanted for our main breakfast dish the next morning, and the breakfast buffet had plenty of options, including fruit, and the coffee was really aromatic~ Also, the hotel's location is super convenient for getting to both Lijiang Ancient Town and Shuhe Ancient Town… All in all, I had a fantastic four-day, three-night stay at Yundu.
