Kauai Palms Hotel

Great place for a couple of nights Great place for a few nights. Due to the storms, we unexpectedly found ourselves without a place on Kauai for 2 nights. Kauai Palms was available and had what we needed: a kitchen for all the groceries we had previously bought. The receptionist could not have been more friendly, understanding, and accommodating. We were able to store our luggage on the last day for a couple of hours for free. There is no view. It is down a city street. Typical old-school motel, but still lovely in its own way.

An old fashioned motel from the 60’s. Only stayed 1 night for convenience to the airport. Wouldn’t recommend for a long period of time. Was nice to have a small refrigerator, although it needed defrosting.

I would totally recommend this place to stay, it’s affordable, clean and decent. There are few good restaurants around walking distance with vegetarian options. Most of all, if you want deeper experience of Hawaii culture and if you’re interested in learning about the rich history of the island, go there and ask for Ron. He has a vast knowledge and he shares that passionately with visitors. He has exhibits and picture album. We spent abt 2 hours with him, totally worth it. Kids enjoyed his stories as well, we felt more connected with Hawaii after that short history class.

Love the feel of this little hotel. Plus none of the exorbitant resort fees. Super clean. We had a room with no AC which was just fine. Loved the garden area and balcony overlooking it - plus chairs available to sit outside. Appreciated morning coffee. Handy to the airport which was so valuable with our late night arrival. It has an incredible mini-museum display of artifacts and replicas. You need to stay here in order to hear Ron's fascinating talk on the artifacts and island history . Thank you so much for that Ron. It was one of the highlights of our trip.

This hotel is very old and needs updated. In Room 27 right near the laundry for staff only, (no laundry on-site) so noisy and they parked the carts right in front of our door! Being on the main floor we had a front and back door (but couldn't open the back door all the way because it hit the bed). The floors were sticky, the bathroom door didn't open all the way because it hit the sink, the kitchen, dinning, living room, and bedroom all in one room (needed more room). No coffee in the room, had to go to the lobby area from 8 to 10 a.m. On street parking, no restaurant or bar on-site. The air conductor was right above the bed and very noisy. We did like the beach towels and a larger refrigerator. NOTE: spend more money for a nicer place to stay for 5 days.

A very charming hotel, with great attention to detail! Very comfortable bed, clean room, fluffy towels. Air conditioning and ceiling fan and even a mini fridge was available. Super friendly and helpful receptionist. Quiet location but still close to the airport.
