"This is probably one of the most beautiful hotels we have ever stayed in & we have been to a lot! However, there is a but….. The good: As soon as you walk into the reception and wonder around the hotel, you suddenly feel at ease. Every small detail of the hotel has been well thought through. We had a river view room with a small balcony looking over the river and pool. The room was large, comfortable and really nicely decorated. The bathroom had a large walk in shower. Dotted around the hotel are lots of small areas with table and chairs where you could sit and chill out. The pool area and gardens are beautiful and well kept. There also a gym and sauna. Breakfasts are awesome, with so much high quality food to choose from. The young staff team were great, so helpful and cheerful doing what they could to help, even with the language barrier. The but…..on our last day we decided to spend the day chilling around the hotel, or tried to anyway. The were maintenance guys changing door lock banging around all day, so we thought we would move to the pool area, where the guys building a new building were also banging around all day. So there was no where to escape, which was really disappointing. A note from the hotel informing us of the work may have helped us plan to be elsewhere! Having said that, we loved the hotel."

"This hotel has a lot of potential, but it's not living up to it. They spend a lot of money on the facade, but ignore the details. The front of house and grounds are beautiful. The pool area is nice. From there it goes downhill. As you get deeper into the complex, you see it is in need of serious repair. Obvious by the broken chairs in the pool bar, the decaying Children's Park, and the 1987 "Fitness Center". My room was generally clean, but needed some attention. The balcony door lock was broken. There were dead bugs in the ceiling light fixture. Most annoying was the termite infested bathroom door that wouldn't open or close. The staff were mostly nice, but the young girl at the front desk really needs some customer service training. She could start by making eye contact when speaking to guests and trying to at least pretend they exist. Breakfast was enjoyable with a large variety. It was "okay," but I will stay somewhere else on my next visit."

"The guesthouse is very weak. In the rooms there are no furniture, only beds and sometimes a very small and fragile servant. On the other hand things on the ground (cellular, water, glasses, etc.). If you don't have an extra bed, your bags, bags, etc, you'll stay on the floor. The decoration is very bad. To get into the rooms, soft stairs, but the floor is polished porcelain in the outside area. The hotel is close to the centre, but it is on a wide stone, and the best is to go by car. And breakfast is reasonable. One official. The Leticia service is the high point of the hotel, because it is very sympathetic and efficient. A couple (the two in the 60-year-old band) who was traveling with us was poorly equipped in a room where he had only one bed and a mezzanine with difficult access (like a sofa), things on the ground, and Leticia allowed the exchange of the room for one with extra bed. The next day we were walking on the plate, and when we came back, they simply brought together the things of this couple and took them to the home room without talking to them, that is unconceivable, there is no communication with the manager. We are not having a fixed staff at the reception. We anticipate our exit in one day, without knowing whether we would be refunded. But we were. A bad experience and that will not be repeated."

"From the bus arrival in Lençóis to the guesthouse, it's about a 10-minute walk, rolling your suitcase over cobblestones, before climbing a steep ramp to the reception. The guesthouse's structure is basic but tasteful, everything is organized, and the staff is extremely helpful and smiling. The rooms are not luxurious and have a small dresser, sofa bed, and empty mini-fridge. The shower in the bathroom heats up quickly, and the spacious balcony has hooks for a hammock and a table. There are not enough electrical outlets in the room. There are 4-star hotels with worse breakfasts; the guesthouse's is more than complete, especially with fresh seasonal fruit juices and delicious cakes. Recommendations for tours or private guides are made at reception, always very helpful, including tips on hiking trails. The center of Lençóis and its houses are about a 5-minute walk away. Obviously, the daily rates were quite high due to the Carnival period, but I imagine that in other months the good value for money is more evident."
