"I had the pleasure of staying at the Ionian Blue with my family for my bestie Natalie & Tony's wedding held on the 30th May. They were attentive, super helpful and nothing was to difficult to ask for. They worked so hard to ensure every guest was well looked after. I must give a special mention to Vasilki in reception who in my mind should be General Manager. She was fabulous!!! She supported the planning of the wedding by ensuring everything went to plan. Many things she did I know isnt part of her daily job. She made my kids and I feel so welcomed. Also a massive shout out to Kristos!!! He handled a number of orders and did his best to stay cheerful and managed perfectly!!! I know this past week was tough for him as he was mainly the only one in the bar/pool area but both him and Vasilki deserve a pay rise and promotions! They were super friendly and a total asset to the hotel. Please congratulate them for a job well done! I will happily return to this hotel because of them!!! Food in the bar/pool was tastier and cooked brilliantly. The hotel has an amazing view and our room was perfectly clean and spacious. If you have mobility issues then walking to use the many lifts or stairs could be a problem but overall for me it was worth it. Thank you Ionian!!!!"

"The view is amazing and the pool area is beautiful. (Although there is no hot tubs which is misleading as the photos show one). The rooms were a good size and the layout of the hotel is very cute - very good for couples. Staff were so helpful and friendly with everything we asked for; except blonde receptionist who I’m guessing is the manager was very condescending/rude. They don’t serve any drinks during certain times of the day which is bad considering it was 35 degrees! However, very close to Nidri and an amazing location would definitely recommend for a few nights stay!"

"There wasn't sponge and liquid detergent in kitchen to wash the dishes. The kitchen shelves were full with dust. The location is pretty far from the rest of the island. The beach is pebbled and too crowded. The location doesn't offer much to do, actually it's not a village...there is some tavernas, but they also were crowded and if you don't make reservation you can't find a place to eat."

"Friendly owners who made us feel welcome and helped us organise trips around the island. Our room was very comfortable, with plenty of space for our belongings, meaning we didn’t feel like we were living out of a suitcase. There was a feast for breakfast, with beautifully fresh ingredients. A 2-minute walk down the road to a gorgeous small beach - peaceful but also with a van to buy drinks and snacks. A 15-minute walk to the village with outstanding restaurants - everything is so tasty!"

"This accommodation is in a perfect location.Out of the village sufficiently to be quiet but only five minutes walk into the village with the numerous cafes and restaurants. Each room has a small balcony with wonderful sea and mountain views. Another great asset is that there is lots of parking on site which is at a premium in this village. The receptionist is very friendly and provided guests with freshly baked goods every afternoon. We loved returning to the cool of the trees after a roasting day on a beach . Sadly the rooms are very small with no extra furniture so no chair in the room ….something we didn’t realise how much we would miss until we didn’t have one! The bathroom gave plentiful hot water but it is tiny ….if you are slightly bigger than a 36 inch waist then you’d not fit into the shower cubicle . When we first used the shower we flooded the bathroom and then realised that part of the shower unit was missing . When we questioned this we were told it had been broken by previous occupants …we should have been informed of this problem when we checked in. The owner offered us a complimentary meal at a nearby restaurant that she owned and we moved rooms the next day but when on holiday you don’t want to spend one of your days moving rooms and you certainly don’t want to be moaning about a shower. We also reported that the light on our balcony didn’t work …sadly this was never fixed …small issue but it meant we couldn’t sit on the balcony and read in the evening. There was a small swimming pool but never saw it being cleaned …I had suspicions that it wasn’t as a cushion from an outdoor chair was lying on the bed of the pool fir the duration of our stay ."

"First of all, the hotel is very nice located right on the Vasiliki beach and offers a great value for surfers. The rooms have really nice balconies with view to the beach but the rooms themselves are really outdated and honestly subpar. However, location and surfing experience offerings make this a busy hotel. Service is at best standard but nothing remarkable. We enjoyed being located so close to the Vasiliki beach and as we did not spend much time in the room we did not care a lot."

"Lets be honest shall we its not a 4 star hotel its a 2 and threequarter,rooms small our fridge had to be changed as it sounded like an oasis concert they did change it immediately,the main door is shut at 10pm so you have to climb some back stairs to get back in,there is no staff there at night so if something happens christ knows what you would do, The staff manager Harris and Fay reception are lovely but it aint worth 200 euros a night ,the new owners need to pull their finger out and sort it out the staff are doing their very best with obviously little support.Nigel ,Viscount Rothermere. If you want a 4 star Hotel go to the St Nicholas thats the dogs."
