Philippos Hotel Apartments

What a lovely hotel and staff! The hotel is very well run, spotless, with beautiful grounds, constant hot water, nice rooms, very friendly and helpful staff and the most amazing owner, George, who went above and beyond to help us and make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. He made sure we had all we needed, got us stuff from the supermarket, gave us free drinks when we arrived late, and many other things. There was water there for sale cheaper than in the shops. I cannot fault the hotel at all. It is also really close to the beach. Over the road and down a short track and you're there on a beautiful beach. It is stones, not sand, but we had beach shoes for swimming so no problem. The sea was so calm and clear. There are quite a lot of sunbeds at one end, €12 for 2 beds and a parasol for the day. Not cheap but worth it, although some people sat on the beach and George said we could use parasols from the hotel. Buying a lilo to sit on is not a bad idea. There is a small bar serving drinks but not meals. The beach is away from the road. If you walk to the marina there are other beaches by the road. The road is busy and the hotel is right on the road so choose a back room if you want to avoid the noise, though it didn't bother me or detract from my experience. The town and marina are a 10 minute walk along the busy road. There's not much in the town but the shops had plenty of choice. The restaurants were nothing special at the marina but most food was ok. The farthest one is probably the best. We had lunch at the marina but didn't go there at night because we didn't fancy the walk at night. Pavements not great. There's a bakery just up the other direction, though. Also a bus stop there for the bus to Nidri one way or Lefkada town the other (€2 and took about 12 minutes). It was worth seeing the town for a bit of a change. There is lots there. Getting a car is a good idea for getting around the island. Although not the best town, the stay was actually really relaxing, due to the lovely hotel and proximity to the beach. There is no pool but this didn't matter because of the beach.

Renting an apartment from Philippos Hotel Apartments was great. The rooms contained everything you need on a holiday and were cleaned everyday. Location was good, because it’s near a beach, Lefkada city and Nydri. The hospitality of the owner Giorgios was also great. He gave us some hints on what to do in Lefkada.

Struttura moderna composta da alcuni edifici divisi da un giardino centrale curatissimo. Il nostro appartamento comprendeva una cucina con due letti singoli, una camera da letto ed un bagno con una grande doccia. Entrambi i locali, molto spaziosi, erano forniti di condizionatore con balconi attrezzati con sedie e tavolino. Pulizia ottima effettuata ogni giorno, con cambio frequente di lenzuola e asciugamani da bagno. Nel giardino è disponibile un barbecue per gli ospiti. La posizione è strategica, a metà strada tra Lefkada Town e Nidry, i due borghi dell' isola più movimentati di sera, raggiungibili entrambi in poco più di una decina di minuti di auto. A circa 200 metri dalla struttura, attraversando la strada e percorrendo una stradina sterrata in una sorta di pineta, si raggiunge una stupenda spiaggia , un' insenatura con ciottoli, mare trasparente e sempre calmo. Una particolare menzione va fatta al proprietario Giorgio, onnipresente, parla correttamente l' italiano, sempre gentilissimo e disponibile, pronto a dare consigli su cosa fare a Lefkada.
