Stonecroft Country Inn

What an amazing experience from the time you walk thru the doors. Incredibly clean. Huge comfortable rooms. Beautifully decorated. Inn keeper was super friendly. Breakfast room is so beautiful. Food was delicious. Highly recommend! Can’t wait to return.

I booked a weekend for my wife and I to celebrate our anniversary, and chose this inn based on the amenities listed. Boy did I choose well! This is easily one of my favorite places I've ever stayed. Our room had a gas fireplace and a tub with whirlpool jets, which I gather is available in most rooms. Both were very welcome features that really made the room a comfortable place to stay. Breakfast in the mornings was wonderful and satisfying - just the right size to get me going in the morning. The dining room was beautiful. The inn is technically in Ledyard, but it's only a couple minutes from Mystic. It was very easy to come and go as we pleased without feeling like it was out of the way to go back to the inn. Finally, they had a wonderfully friendly dog named Tanner. While he's not advertised on their site as far as I saw, there's just something so appropriate about having a friendly pup to make you feel welcomed. We will definitely be returning.

As part of the Select Registry family of places to stay, we hoped it was all that and more. After phoning the staff, Jodie met us and shied us to our room. It all appeared wonderful, cozy and clean. We took a few minutes to acquaint ourselves with the room amenities and operate the tv, fireplace, bathroom fixtures and more. The important notices are mattress, pillows and cleanliness. Great mattress in the LILY room, pillows were too flat, so, multiples are required and those toss pillows don’t count. Great sleep, woke at 6 am, excited for another Fall day in CT. My husband likes to ‘make’ the bed but I chose to draw all the bedding to the end of the bed so the staff would know to change the sheets. That’s when I saw ALL the soiled strains: old, yellowed and disgusting. It’s ironic that the innkeepers promote a brand of sheets for folks to purchase yet our sheets were thin, stained and should have been tossed weeks ago. I’m not sure who housekeepers are and fail to know how these stains were missed. Then, after enjoying a couple of mugs of kuerig coffee, my husband put me on notice that the water pressure was almost a trickle. We decided to pack up and headed down to breakfast where the innkeeper alerted us that the plumber was on his way to check the well. At that point, I informed Jodie about those stained sheets and she explained them away. That’s it, the property is 5 miles up the road from Mystic and secluded and quiet. These innkeepers acquired property’s during Covid and it’s a huge undertaking to oversee and maintain all these rooms by themselves. I respect their mission.

Beautiful place, and a wonderful scenic ride to and from the Inn. The hosts were friendly and accommodating from the very beginning, we even got to check in a little early, for free. My only concerns are for two things which I believe the hosts perhaps 'can' control, rather than things they cannot, like, the age of the Inn itself, and whether or not a spider makes its way into a room: (Yes, a huge spider was on our bathroom ceiling) #1, the bed in our room sagged significantly on my side. I did not mention this to our hosts during our stay...perhaps I should have. However, the sagging bed was visually obvious and apparent. #2, my wife asked upon our arrival if there was a breakfast menu. The answer was a polite, no. Ok, no big deal, breakfast the next day was delicious French toast, hot and filling and we ate what was served. Day two's breakfast included scrambled eggs; we could tell immediately these were liquid eggs poured from a carton and not farm fresh. Since we had been told previously that there was no breakfast menu, we mostly assumed that if you didn't like something that was served, then that's pretty much the end of it. I know fresh eggs, like so many other things right now, are expensive, but, again, at the price point a guest is paying, (my opinion) real eggs should be served; additionally, if scrambled eggs are the only things being served, then please use real eggs. Or tell your guests what you're serving before and what ingredients are being used. So, as previously stated, I think a host can ensure that a bed that sags is replaced before the next guests arrive, and if breakfast choices are limited, prepare everything being served with all natural ingredients.

This bed and breakfast was absolutely beautiful! As soon as I walked in it just felt so warm and cozy and we were greeted by the Innkeeper Tanner who is the most cutest Gooldendoodle. I stayed in the Briar Rose suite and it was stunning! I had big French doors that opened to the backyard which was huge! The bed so was comfy and I fell in love with whirlpool tub. We plan on going back next year too and I can’t wait! Highly recommend!

Went for my wife’s Birthday weekend. This place is amazing! Our room (Shabel) was awesome. The most comfortable bed ever and a jacuzzi tub that had a view of the gas fireplace were the icing on the cake! The owners were beyond nice and man can they make a fantastic breakfast! I would absolutely 100 percent go back the next time we stay in the area.
