Brisbane House Hotel

Stayed here for one night whilst working Nice hotel was very quiet and I seemed to get the smallest room at back of hotel for £170 B&B Room was warm and pillows very hard it was very clean however so no issues there. No free water in room I would have thought would have Breakfast was ok cooked to order not much set out for fruit etc however Given price I would probably look for somewhere else next time

Beautiful hotel overlooking the sea with the most amazing views of sunset. Well appointed room with comfortable bed , rain shower , delicious tea/ coffee tray with luxury biscuits. Iron and ironing board. Beautiful smelling hand and shower soap. Delicious breakfast freshly cooked to order. Plenty of parking. Staff friendly. Will definitely return.

Stayed here as we were attending a wedding in the area. The hotel is really nicely decorated and has a good feel about it. We found the staff friendly and helpful. Our room was a good size and was clean. Iron and ironing board and hairdryer were provided. The breakfast was really good. Freshly cooked and a good selection of hot choices. The staff were friendly and efficient and we didn’t wait long for our order to be taken or the food to arrive. Unfortunately the hotel doesn’t do evening meals but there are plenty of choices in Largs. We would definitely stay again if in the area.

Stayed with Family and had an amazing time, the staff were so friendly and the hotel is lovely, the wedding we attended had a great atmosphere and was the perfect size to accommodate the full party, I loved the fact we could sit outside in the terrace and relax during photo, it was one of my fav parts of the day and I normally find it boring waiting for dinner. The food I found amazing, we had steak pie and it was super tasty, love how they catered to my children's allergies with ease. Breakfast was lovely continental, we did need to wait about 15 minutes for hot food but that did not bother anyone as we were busy chatting about the evening before. I would highly recommend, well done on the work you have done to change this place Hope you enjoy reading my first of many reviews to come on trip advisor!

Wedding Party- Beautiful outside entrance and that's all.The food was atrocious. Starter was terrible - some cheap frozen prawns slapped on the plate with marie rose sauce. No choice so if you didn't like seafood then you were left with no starter. The main course was terrible - the vegetables inedible as they seemed to have been microwaved to death as they were rock solid, carots were like rubber.Chicken was very dry , portion like for my 6 years old son. Dessert- no choice, you could only get profiterole, absolutely horrible, defrosted , cream sour inside and soggy outside. Overall, the communication, clarity and professionalism of the hotel was awful. We experienced deplorable service from the staff - not one spoke while serving, none showed any interest in time-keeping.The staff kept interaction to a minimum. Evening service very chaotic. Staff rude and unprofessional. Be careful when ordering alcoholic drinks as they seem to be forgetting to add alcohol to soft drinks. If you have booked hotel room with check in on the same day of the wedding be prepared for not being allowed into your room after wedding ceremony. We could not leave our bags in the room before ceremony and staff asked us to leave them next to staircase-a completely insecure place right in the middle of entrance hall where everyone had access to. The overall impression was that this was a place out to make money out of wedding parties, not offer a good service. Look further and find a person centred venue. I have to rate this place as the worst run in Scotland I have come across - pretty surroundings are not enough to create a special day. Not what you expect from this grade of hotel won't be rushing back anytime soon.

Visited here on the first of August for close friends wedding.what a great venue. Spotlessly clean,staff couldn't do enough for us . Very helpful .and professional..The wedding meal itself was amazing .and served nicely .we are all entitled to our opinion on our experience The Brisbane . I couldn.t fault this venue. Arrived at the hotel and was very impressed with how it looked. Very modern, very clean and tidy car park area. Beautiful entrance hall. Was joining a group of approx 60 others for a meal All meals were pre ordered. I chose fish and chips as did my husband. I was very disappointed when my plate arrived as it had exactly 18 skinny fries....all hidden under the fish. The fries were also soggy The staff brought out ketchup several minutes after the food....so the chips had been eaten by then. Others at the table stated that they were unable to eat the broccoli (which came with the steak pie option) as it was brick hard. The fish was totally fine. However I don't understand why they would skimp on the fries. People who ordered the macaroni cheese, received a bowl of fries..... Very disappointed.....would probs choose another place to eat in future.

Recently refurbished with excellent views. Staff all professional and friendly. Nice breakfast, hotel does not provide lunch and dinner. My main concern is that they have no ground floor bedrooms and no lift so if you have mobility issues this might not be the hotel for you.

My wife and I went for a midweek break for two days, which cost £364 for a top floor deluxe room, which was nice enough with a great view of the water from the large window, but it was quite dirty from the seagulls. Our holiday was let down by the breakfast, first morning we had the full English which was pretty average, next day we changed what we wanted I went for eggs benedict, my wife asked for 2 poached eggs on toast, not sourdough(they came on sourdough), and 3 out of the 4 eggs were hard. We waited for almost a hour and guests who came in after us were served before us and when we pointed this out to staff they said it depended on what was ordered, one of their meals was eggs benedict, there were only around eight people in the restaurant at the time so did not understand how it could take so long to basically poach 4 eggs at the end of the day and still get it wrong.
