Barona Resort & Casino

We enjoyed our time at Barona Casino and Resort. We played many games at the casino and even had lunch which was really great. Very comfortable atmosphere with friendly servers, attendants, and clean bathrooms. We would definitely go back if ever in the area.

Barona is steadily losing customers. The hotel might be nice. This place in its heyday was a great place to come. You got to at least play with your money. Now, you might as well hand it to them at the door with a tip. Save the gas money, you bet $5 to win 20 cents on a machine. There's no 90% payout here, these machines are set tight. That's why Barona doesn't advertise as the lowest slots (not a real thing anyway, all marketing). Locals who play here are just as dumb as I am for giving them $1000.00 tonight in an hour of slots. Do yourself a favor, and your bank account too, find something else to spend the money on. If you win too much at the tables they will ask you to move off the table. The table games have funky rules now and while you will catch a few "lucky" winners, the vibe here is gone. People come to try their luck, but I can tell you, the place has no luck for 98% of you. Every game now is penny and your betting dollars to win cents or not even a bonus to at least lighten the mood. 99.8% are gonna regret they came here at all. You better really have lady luck on your side, but I won't be back. They got their last $1000 out of me. Enjoy it Barona. I sincerely hope you read and try some place different. This is all flash and no cash. Your even remotest odds of winning here have gone to such low odds, your gonna get struck by lightening if you do winz it's that rare. Put $100 into a machine and watch the money burn. For better fun, try the cash burn game, at least it's poetic.

I used to go to Barona several times a year and enjoyed staying there even though it was quite a drive from the LA area. However in the past few years, they have gotten kind of snooty as to who is allowed to stay there ( only high rollers can get a room) and who can eat where. ( Try to get a window view or take out.) The rooms are nice but basic- the décor hasn’t been updated in at least a dozen years. Also miss the spa which moved to Sycuan after the pandemic.

Still Non Smoking. Yeah! Still no alcohol. Yeah! Still uncrowded. Yeah! So, lately, my partner and I have been going to Barona on Saturday afternoons just to have something fun to do. We do not expect to win big or be selected for any promotions. Barona really favors Diamond players over everyone else. I can understand they spend more, but often, they win more too! I do not like the food options being segregated also. VIP eatery? Come on, sell your food to whomever wishes to eat it! How Lame? But, the last 3 weekends, we have won twice what we spent, typically $3k to $4k out the door! So you can keep your VIP food, VIP Parking and silly games. We will take the wins over that all day long! And go eat somewhere else! Good luck!

one of the worst casinos in san diego, sweats winning players, a sad sad affair, hypocrisy at it's best, don't be fooled with the smiles at the door, disappears fast if you are a winner, primitve decor and lousy food

We went to the casino and had a lot of fun. Hubby won $400. We were surprised when 3 employees walked around with a cart with a game you choose numbers on. Random people were selected and got paid whatever amount came up from their selection. They walked around with music and tambourines and were super friendly. Never experienced that before at a casino. Lunch was great too. We will be back!
