Courtyard Lake Placid

Very large room with king bed and whirlpool bath in the corner. Clean, and nice greeting at reception. Perfectly acceptable accommodations and we would stay here again. The decor is fine, but not the latest and greatest magazine-worthy offering.

Hotel is looking old and worn out. Walls are paper thin. Bring earplugs! Service is ok - about what you would expect from a Courtyard. Disappointed that breakfast wasn’t included though. The location isn’t exactly central but it’s about a 5 minute drive into town.

So this is my 2nd time staying here. The first time things were flawless and is the reason I came back. Unfortunately this time was very challenging. I booked a nice suite for my trip but that turned out to be a disaster. The people above me decided they were going to party the first night till 3am. I called the front desk but nobody answered. I tried to use the chat in app but nobody answered. It wasn’t till the next morning that a manager replied to the chat. And that is why this is at least 3 stars instead of a 1. Unfortunately I don’t have the manager’s name but he was very apologetic and helpful and helped to mitigate the situation and for that I’m very thankful. One other thing I would recommend is get a room away from the road and towards the back of the hotel. There’s way too much road noise and there seems to be a slightly ajar manhole cover that everytime it gets hit…you can hear it. I hope to be back and will stay here again, only because of the manager’s eventual responsiveness to the situation.

This Courtyard is beautiful and fits in with the Lake Placid atmosphere. Mobile key worked without the need to stop at the front desk and prove who I am, as is the case in many Marriott properties these days. Room was nice, large and had everything I needed. Gym was standard hotel offering, couple treadmills and some free weights My only negative is the parking lot is a bit of a mess and could use some attention

Just back from Lake Placid, NY. Traveling with 2 dogs. The Marriott Courtyard could not have been nicer. We went for the Total Eclipse. The hotel was, as expected, busy. You would never know by the chill, professional and kind manner of all the staff. They never made you feel you were being rushed, had a cute welcome bag for the dogs. We had a large room on the 4th floor that was huge, immaculate and very comfortable. All pre-requests were in the room upon arrival. The hotel was the perfect location to see the total eclipse with all the other guests it was like a tailgate party in the parking lot. Kudos to the staff that virtually lived there for the duration working with a smile.

This hotel was disappointing but it had its good points too. After arriving late in the evening we figured out the next day our room had no heat. It was broken and could not be fixed. We did get a space heater which was appreciated and the service engineer was quick, friendly and professional. The front desk staff went above and beyond to address this issue which was really appreciated. Overall the room was in need of some TLC. It needed a real cleaning, some dirt on walls, baseboards were missing in spots and mattresses were worn and soft. Lastly and worst there is absolutely no soundproofing between rooms and we spent a couple hours listening to our neighbours yell at their kids and their kids yell back. It was awful. The coffee in the bistro was some of the best in hotel coffee I’ve had and well worth the price. Early morning staff at the cafe were friendly and quick. Overall seems like good staff but the facilities need some updates and attention.

Probably the worst customer service out of a hotel that I’ve seen in a long time. Staff very rude. Rooms smelled like either sewage or dirty feet. Extremely disappointed in the stay. Also multiple people left with itchy bites on body.

Saw some less than favorable reviews online but still wanted to find out first hand by staying there. Thought everything was fine. Hotel, room and pool area all very clean. Room was very comfortable. Staff was pleasant. A very short ride to the downtown area. Would return when in the area.

First and foremost, the staff was super friendly and professional. The room was comfortable and clean (top floor, fourth near back corner). But, the most pleasant surprise was the Bistro. The counter person was wonderfully sincere. The chef, Becky, made the best breakfasts for us. Thank you.
