Disney's BoardWalk Inn

If you don’t want to read the entire review just know this: over $800 a night is robbery. This was like staying at a motel 6 with cheesy disney decor in the room. Upon arrival we were greeted by valet screaming directions every which way to all the cars the pulling up. It was utter chaos. When we moved into the lobby there was not a single ounce of organization to be found. People were just sort of standing around, some with iPads, haphazardly checking people in. Once we finally found someone to check us in, no easy task, we headed to our rooms. My parents had a suite that was evidently just “redone”. By just redone they must have meant redone in the early 1980s. There is no access to this room from an inside hallway either; you can only enter or exit from the outside courtyard. The design of this hotel could not be more confusing. From my balcony I had the pleasure of watching every single person get lost. In my parents room there was POOP IN THE TRASH CAN and WET TOWELS IN THE SHOWER. At this point, we are wishing we had stayed at the motel 6. My husband and I had to change rooms because they gave us a room with two full beds. We booked a king, obviously. When we were changing rooms they gave us the run around on how this is a “family resort” so there aren’t a lot king rooms. So on top of having to change rooms this woman doesn’t qualify us as a family? Just WOW. Also, for over $800 a night you can’t give me a king bed? This hotel is a MESS. The main pool was utter chaos so we went to the quieter, smaller pool in the courtyard. It’s fine, but old and freezing and the towels offered at the pool were thinner than cardboard. I don’t think I saw one member of hotel staff near the pool. My recommendation is obviously not to stay here. Disney has changed a lot in the past 6 years since I have been and from what I can see and have experienced these changes are for the worse..

We love the boardwalk hotel and have stayed there many times, but this last time we had a problem with our pool day. The pool was very cold on a 75 degree day. I have a pool and the temperature was in the mid to low 70 s. I tried to see if there was a problem, they connected me to a person named Megan and se said see would check and hung up on me. I put a question into a Disney contact us, and a Gerald emailed me back and said in the winter month they keep their pools at 78-80. I contacted him back and said the web sites advertise “we keep our pool at 82 degrees all year for the enjoyment of our guests” . I did send the back to Gerald and have not received a response. This is troubling because as most families we always schedule at least one pool day on our trip.

Common areas are very nice. Location is fantastic with very easy access to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. For the price the room are just OK. When we checked in the built-in soap dish had items left from the prior guest, including what looked like a pill and some garbage. Thought this would be cleaned up the next day. It was not. Made me question the overall cleanliness of the room. The room was loud. We could clearly hear everyone going by in the hallway and in the next room. Very hard to sleep in. I mentioned this to a Disney staff member and was told the walls were thin. Yikes. Had a great time and enjoyed our stay overall. However, for the price, I will look elsewhere next time.

The staff at this resort is absolutely amazing. The location cannot be beat. You can walk to Hollywood Studios or Epcot very quickly. The design of the lobby and the rooms is gorgeous. We stayed club level, and the staff in the club lounge is absolutely fantastic. They are so proactive and friendly and always keeping everything clean and beautifulno matter how busy it gets. Also the variety of the food in the club lounge is excellent.

We had a wonderful time staying at BoardWalk Inn. Here's what we liked: Friendly staff: the staff were super nice and always ready to help, even late at night. Convenient location: the hotel is within walking distance of both Epcot and Hollywood Studios, which made getting to the parks easy. The boardwalk was lively and entertainment to enjoy, adding a unique charm to the stay. The pool and hot tub had convenient hours for unwinding after a long day.

We are very familiar with this resort. It is my husband's favorite. He loves booking a balcony room with the Lagoon View and Club Level. This time, our trip was planned in a shorter time than usual, and we were not able to get Club Level, but we did book a room with Boardwalk/ Lagoon View. The last two times we booked this resort, we were very surprised at the way luggage is handled between valet services/parking services and Bell Services. We're not new to Disney resorts at every level, and the luggage service here is just off, in my opinion. We decided to once again drive as it happened the last time we parked in the front, and a valet/parking attendant offered to help once again with our luggage. Basically, they help you load it into the cart, push it a few feet unto the sidewalk, and tell you to leave it there until Bell Services comes and gets it, completely unattended and unsupervised. The last time we received very condescending answers when inquiring as to why our cart was left by the sidewalk unattended just to be told that Bell Services will come get it when they could. I asked him if this was the same process again, and he said yes. I told my husband there was no way this I was leaving our cart unattended on the sidewalk, our room was ready, and there was no reason for it to just sit there. While my husband parked the car, I tipped the valet/parking the attendant and stood by our cart waiting for Bell Services just to be told I need it to go inside and let them know that our room was ready. We just came back from Disneyland, Bell services is located right by the parking area, so you can go immediately to them and if your room is not ready you can leave your luggage there and go on with your day. He said that was not what they were doing and that I needed to go inside and let them know my room was ready, once I was in my room, then they would call, verify and bring over. There were four other carts left unattended, including one with two purses hanging. Our Bell Services attendant was super friendly, and in no way we're we upset with anybody, that's is just what the resort has in place. Not only do you tip the parking attendant for basically helping load luggage into a cart pushing it 5 ft to the sidewalk, making you go inside letting bell services know is there and then either waiting for them to come get it if you're not comfortable leaving it unattended or pushing it there yourself. I thought that was very awkward for a deluxe resort. I don't mind tipping, but I feel that is a system in place to create a reason to tip the parking attendant. We didn't have that much luggage we could have done it ourselves, we thought the cart would come in and at least be delivered to Bell Services rather than be told leave it, there go inside, let them know, they'll come get it when they can and you can just go on to your room. I wasn't going to leave it there again. As far as the room, we had a newly remodeled room. It is an improvement
