Pastoral views & peaceful vibes. This is an architecturally stunning property that offers a really calm atmosphere perfect for unwinding. The pool is an absolute stunner and the gardens/grounds really lovely. I wasn't sure about the Brutalist architecture, but set within a desert context it somehow made sense, feeling somehow cozy instead of cold or harsh. There are lovely sightlines and architectural details to enjoy around every corner. There were some minor language barrier issues a few times, and much of the staff does not speak english, but overall it wasn't a big problem. Slippers in the room would've been nice, especially considering you have to go outside in very cool temps at night to reach the bathroom. I was really glad I had packed my own! The bed was very comfortable. I found that the cleaning supplies smelled very strong and gave me a headache. I re-mopped the floors with wet towels and asked that no more be sprayed in my room during my stay, and left the doors open each day to air things out, but switching to less toxic & fragranced cleaning supplies & detergent would be a worthwhile change. I did also have some minor security concerns, especially if you are a woman traveling alone consider booking an upper floor room. The bedroom doors do not have locks and are fairly exposed to adjacent farmland. After not sleeping well due to unease over this the first night, I asked for a transfer to an upper floor room which offered more privacy and security- luckily there was a room available. Though there are cameras everywhere, there are no security guards other than one stationed at the front gate quite a ways away, and no door locks on the bedroom doors. There is a flimsy wire fence (pictured), which protects the integrity of the views, but does nothing to engender a sense of security. After moving to an upper floor room I witnessed a man in the nearby fields looking intently into a lower room complex which made me very glad I had moved rooms. I spoke to two other women solo travelers who were also a bit on edge about the lack of door locks on the bedroom and who also witnessed farm workers from the nearby poblano fields peering into the rooms. The hotel could also use better signage from the main highway (like San Cristobal has)- it's very difficult to find the turnoff if you are driving yourself. I took part in 3 included experiences, the first being guided breathwork, which I enjoyed. I also took the cooking class- while I enjoyed myself and the food, I would've been disappointed had this been a paid experience. The instructor could not speak much english, and I don't speak much spanish, so it made for very difficult communication. We made guacamole, then the chef prepared an oyster dish (I am allergic, so can't speak to the taste), and an octopus taco, which was fabulous- he also let us smell or taste various components of the dish. I really enjoyed the beach sunset experience! There are individual set ups in the sand w
