Breezes Beach Club and Spa

We stayed at Breezes Beach Club & Spa in Zanzibar in June 2025 for a week, and it was truly one of the most magical, memorable holidays we've ever had. The hotel is absolutely stunning, set on a pristine, private stretch of beach lined with palm trees and lush gardens. The traditional Swahili aesthetic—from the thatched roofs to the elegant decor—gives the whole resort an authentic, peaceful charm that instantly made us feel relaxed and welcome. Our garden room was like a little bungalow, beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean (like everywhere else in the hotel), and surrounded by greenery. It had everything we needed, and we loved the peaceful view. A friendly little cat visited us daily, and we even spotted a monkey one afternoon right outside our room—such special moments! The pool was large, clean, and inviting, and there’s also a well-stocked gift shop on-site for any essentials or souvenirs. The Salama Dining Room served a wide variety of delicious food, with new themes each night and lovely buffet displays. The staff were incredibly attentive to my shellfish allergy and intolerance to spicy food, which I really appreciated. We especially loved lunch at Breakers on the beach—you just can’t beat that view or the sound of the waves. Another highlight was watching the staff climb palm trees, perform acrobatics, and bring us fresh coconuts to drink! The evening entertainment was fantastic, including traditional dancers, singers, and gymnasts. One of our favourite experiences was the village tour to Bwejuu organised by the hotel. It was so meaningful and the money goes toward supporting local communities. We visited a school, a hospital, and met many kind people—including Haji, our amazing guide, and Mama Kay, who dressed us in traditional Zanzibari clothing. The children at the school warmly welcomed us with song and dance—it was a truly heartwarming and unforgettable experience. The spa at the hotel was another highlight—so tranquil and relaxing. We even received a spa discount, which was a lovely surprise. Above all, it was the staff who made Breezes so special. They were genuinely warm, attentive, and went above and beyond in every way. They held our luggage and allowed us to park at the hotel while we were away on our overnight safari—even though we had already checked out. That kind of kindness means so much. We loved all the little thoughtful gestures—welcome drinks and snacks in the lobby, treats delivered to our room, and even farewell gifts left on our bed before we checked out - a Zanzibar apron, tote bag, and elephant figurine— so kind and unexpected. Every person we encountered was warm, welcoming, and willing to go the extra mile. They made us feel like family—whether it was the cleaner placing towels on our chairs after rain, the thoughtful (and yummy!) treats brought to our room, or the apology bottle of wine when our shower briefly lost hot water (which was fixed right away!). Super expérience pour nos 4j à Zanzibar ! Par chance nous étions les premiers clients de l’hôtel pour la saison nous avons donc eu le privilège d’être presque seuls la première journée ! Le personnel est au petit soin, très gentil et poli, très respectueux et attentionnés au détail. La nourriture était très bonne mais aussi très variées avec des thèmes et de la musiques différents tous les soirs. La piscine est très agréable également et le lieu est idyllique ! Les grands toits de chaumes font tout le charme de cet endroit. De plus, l’hôtel est situé en face de la plage qui est très accessible ! Un 10/10 pour notre séjour !

4 night stay here to relax and recover from safari. Very beautiful place right on the Indian Ocean. Bottle of champagne to greet me on the table! Room was great, I would have liked a screen on the door to keep it open. BR had a screen so that was OK. Shower good, everything was there that I needed. The room worker was kind enough to give me extra waters, as after 2, there was a charge to get more at the bar or DR. Dinner here (as at all places) was late at 7, they were very kind and accommodating by letting me eat early at 5, due to some dietary restrictions. Lots of really good food and beverages, my fav was the ginger juice. I wrote to them asking how to make it and they sent me the recipe!!! I did 1 yoga class. Snorkel trip about 1mile north to the Blue Lagoon, a guy on the beach approached me. It actually turned out well, very short boat ride to the Lagoon, he supplied the equipment and went in the water with me. I was in for about 45 minutes, it was just right, $30. Beach felt safe to walk on, both mornings and evening, although I did not venture out after dark. I went in the pool 1x, I could not stay out of the Ocean, It felt like a giant epsom salt bath Felt so good on my muscles and recently replaced R knee. My wife and I had a wonderfull 7 night sray after being on safari. It was the perfect chill out experience. No TV in the room, very peaceful in the restaurant, pool and bar area with low key and quiet music. The food and service were ecxellent. I have taken one star off the room rating as the balconies are not private. The divider does not extend to the front of the balcont which means neighbours have access to your section (see picture)

Nous avons passé une magnifique semaine au Breezes beach Club en famille, les lieux sont agencés et décorés avec gout, les repas sont excellents, et l'accueil qui nous a été réservé a été tout à la fois cordial, amical et très respectueux. Toutefois, nous vous recommandons vivement de mettre vos objets de valeur dans le coffre fort : nous croyant à l'abri de toute mauvaise surprise dans un tel lieu, ma femme a laissé quelques heures durant des colliers dans notre chambre d'hotel. Ceux-ci ont malheureusement disparus dans les heures qui ont suivies... Ce triste incident nous laisse un souvenir un peu amer d'une expérience pour le reste réussie à tout points de vues.
