What a way to start our holiday after a 13 hour flight, total relaxation and quiet. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and the food amazing. Not to be missed and I would recommend at least another night to explore Negombo before moving on. Will definitely be doing that if we go back.

Came here as our first stop in Sri Lanka for a second time. Love it as near the airport yet feels like a slice of genuine semi-rural, tropical Sri Lanka. Rooms are nice (we had two room family suite) and public areas are all well maintained with a lovely colonial feel. Pool is gorgeous and a nice place to chill looking at the lake and having a beer. This time we went on the tractor ride through the local villages which was lots of fun. Highly recommended and everyone you see is very friendly. Food served on the outdoor terrace was once again very good - both lunch and dinner - with huge amounts of food arriving. Staff very kind and helpful. A lovely, relaxing stop.

The perfect place to start your Sri Lankan journey. It’s away from the hussle and bussle of Colombo and offers the perfect atmosphere to get used to the time zone and especially the heat. The rooms are very clean and spacious. The hotel pool is nice and refreshing and you can see many birds from there when overlooking the lake. Everything is lush and green and calm. The staff is very friendly and professional. But the best thing about this place is the food! It’s the best food we had in the entire country. Try their Lamprais, Kottu and milk rice for breakfast. Absolutely delicious!

This was the perfect place to get over our long flight. Less than an hour from the airport, as soon as we pulled up to be greeted with smiles, ice cold towels and cool fresh juice the tensions of the journey began to disappear . Our room was huge, spotlessly clean and airy with a well appointed bathroom and excellent linens. There is a lovely well maintained pool with plenty of space and beds . Meals were served in a covered pavilion overlooking the beautiful grounds and adjoining lake . The food was excellent and a great introduction to Sri Lankan cuisine . The waiters explained every dish with pride . We took a stroll around the lake to the nearby village and temple but really we just enjoyed unwinding and settling in to holiday mode . The best thing of all however were the wonderful staff who were so smilingly attentive and kind . Highly recommended for the start or end of a trip.

Beautiful hotel with beautiful grounds. I saw lots of lovely birds in the surrounding trees and wetlands area, perfect for me as a birdwatcher. The room was wonderful, very spacious with a nice view. Staff very welcoming, and couldn’t do enough for us. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Our first stop from the airport and so glad we stayed for 2 nights, an ideal haven to relax and enjoy Sri Lankan hospitality. The welcome is warm and genuine the rooms tranquil and comfortable. We enjoyed the swimming pool to relax and rest looking out over the lake as the sun set. Meals were Sri Lankan and a great introduction to the food. We enjoyed a short bike ride with a guide from the hotel and an explanation of the small vegetable garden and coconut use and even trying our hand at a sambal. We left for our tour relaxed and ready for more.
