This is the worst "hotel" I have ever stayed in!!! How it is called a hotel is beyond me, it's the nearest thing to a hostel I have ever come across. No elevator, No on site staff (only in morning at breakfast) dark dingy reception area, (you have to check in at sister hotel, down the road, which is also dark and dingy) the receptionist was very unhelpful, she didn't even greet us on arrival, just handed the keys and barely spoke. When we walked up the 3 flights of stairs, carrying heavy luggage we entered the room. Well, I wanted to cry, the room was tired, dirty carpet, mismatched and broken furniture, and one wall was painted in black emulsion. The "hotel" is situated on a run down street with double tram lines, semi derelict buildings and loads of graffiti sprayed on buildings. Breakfast is self service in an outbuilding, the staff didn't greet anyone or interact with guests, just spoke amongst themselves and ignored everyone else. In my opinion the only positive thing I can say about this place is that it is situated quite close to the main hub of things. I certainly will not go back to the Zulian "Hotel" or recommend it to anyone I know. On my return, I did complain to tour operator.
