We had a comfortable two days in our suite of rooms, in need of renovation. The new management took over only four months ago so the resort is a work in progress to give it a new lease of life and bring it up to the standards it can aspire to. The rooms are very spacious, well furnished, good a/c and WiFi and with their own patio/balcony. The pool is very small, good for a dip, not for swimming. From the terraces and restaurant you see over the palm trees towards the beach and waves. The restaurant food was very good and the staff very attentive and friendly. The fried prawns and kingfish moolee was excellent, as were the sandwich platters by room service. We hope the new managers can give this small hotel a new lease of life, so that it can proudly compete with its larger neighbours.

Prices are on the higher side. Rooms are neat and clean. Behavior of the staffs are good. Services are good. Swimming pool is just namesake. Location OK. Just three hundreds meter away from beach. No direct access to the beach from the hotel.

The hotel has nice feel and vibe over all. … we were in family suite … very spacious rooms …and view from balconies were serene and beautiful… special thanks to chef who ensured .. delicious dosas were served for dinner as well ! All in all it was a pleasant experience!

The Getaway beach resort is a small oasis in kovalm. You enter the hotel from the road and are pleasantly surprised when you walk out on to your balcony and see the amazing view of the gardens the beach and the sea. The rooms are spacious , very clean and well equipped and the beds are very comfortable. The manager George is a good *** and runs the hotel in a way that makes it a very welcoming place. We would like to thank George and his management team Wilfred , Stenin and Midhun for being so helpful , the housekeepers for keeping our room very clean and well stocked, the restaurant staff, the maintenance *** , the gate men and the lovey lady who kept the gardens tidy . All of them were so happy and friendly it made our stay at the Getaway a special experience.

On are arrival we were greeted at about 4.00 o’clock in the morning by a friendly staff member and shown to are room asap. We had a large room with a large balcony over looking the sea & hotel gardens. The hotel and gardens were kept clean and tidy every day. As it was a small hotel it felt like we were getting a very personal service unlike some of the other larger hotels. On my birthday they brought me a lovely cake and made my birthday a special day. Although it was a small restaurant all food was cooked to order, and was delicious, every morning fresh coffee and breakfast, ( even made us porridge to order) When we were there there was a lot of festivals, even though they were very loud we could not hear them in our room. The wildlife around the hotel was amazing, from crows, eagle’s, a family of white owls, bats on more than one occasion while in the garden peacocks and a family of mongoose’s walked around on the grass on the lower levels. You could walk to the beach’s and restaurants in kovalam and take a tuk tuk back up the hill to the hotel. Well done to all the staff we had a wonderful peaceful stay.

Getaway is one of the best stays we have had in a long time. The rooms have a beautiful ocean view and you can spend hours just sitting in the balcony. The rooms are extremely spacious and luxurious, very well maintained. The staff was very good and took personal care of each of the guests. The warmth of Mr Anil, Wilfred, Shibu and everyone else makes the stay very comfortable. Breakfast menu is very good and lunch /dinner (preodered) was very well made. The resort doesn't have direct access to the beach and it is a 5 min walk - but that's the case for all the resorts in that area. All the other beaches are within 10 min walk ***** the sea. There are also a few food places around like Catamaran, Taste of kerala etc. But the view from the balcony just takes your breath away and makes this one of the best stays ever. One small thing.. But was a huge help for us.. Our flight to Chennai scheduled for 10:30 am got postponed to 9:30 pm. With 3 elderly people and 1 child, me and my wife were concerned on how we will manage. But Anil ji, Wilfred and Stenin accomadated us and gave us great support with a bit extended stay in a room. It was a relief. Thanks a lot to such supportive staff.

La nourriture est excellente tout comme le service de Shibu. La vue de ce restaurant est belle avec la mer au loin. De plus, c'est beaucoup plus calme que dans les restaurants le long de la plage! Les prix sont abordables. Il y a même une famille de hiboux qui accompagne le repas!
