Positives - I cannot speak highly enough of the dive team. Our dive instructor, the dive centre manager and all of the crew were absolutely wonderful. We completed our advanced diving certificate during our stay and couldn't have asked for a better instructor. 5+ stars for the dive team. The diving itself was out of this world, and we were lucky enough to see many turtles, rays, sharks and more species of beautiful fish and coral than you can imagine, including a file snake near the mangroves! We were out of season, but also saw manta rays on the journey back to the resort from Komodo National Park. The house reef is spectacular, one of the best snorkelling sites I have ever visited, and it was mere meters away from your beach chalet. Again, we saw turtles, sharks, rays and plenty of fish. Sadly I corrupted the memory card of my GoPro, so don't have any footage of the underwater life. For anyone taking a trip to Komodo to see the dragons, I cannot recommend enough staying here, or going on a liveaboard trip. I don't think you would have the same experience if staying in Labuan Bajo. For me, the highlight was not seeing the dragons, but staying in/around the national park. Each night, the sunsets were by far the most beautiful I have ever seen, and the ability to snorkel an incredible site whenever you wanted was a dream. From our chalet, a beautiful kingfisher would land every day in the tree and catch its dinner. The chalets themselves were lovely, not super luxury, but very nice and perfectly clean. You can't ask for much more in such a remote location. The proximity from your bed to beach/reef was exceptional. There's also a trail up the hill behind the resort, which I would recommend at sunset. Negatives - I only have one negative, but unfortunately it's a big one. My boyfriend got the worst food poisoning of his life from this resort, which left him ill for almost an entire month and requiring antibiotics for a number of weeks when back in the UK. Sadly, the 32 hour journey back to London was not a fun one. On the morning we left, the restaurant staff (who were wonderful) came over to tell me that the meal I had eaten the night before had given another two guests food poisoning. By some miracle, I did not like the look of the chicken kebabs and hadn't eaten them, otherwise I would also have been very ill on the journey home. You are miles away from anywhere to access medicine, so make sure you bring everything you might need with you. There's a pharmacy near the resort shop, so stock up as we ran out early on! Sadly it also impacted how much my partner could enjoy the diving, snorkelling and resort, and I spent the last days enjoying it mostly alone. That being said, I would absolutely return for the diving, staff and location. Perhaps I would just be vegetarian next time... Given a number of people became ill during the week we stayed here, I think they need to double check the standards in the kitchen. Although I haven't seen oth
