a wonderful island, a wonderful resort, run by wonderful people throughout. paradise on earth. great villa with everything you need, private beach, snorkeling on the reef in 5 minutes. great food, great people who all work with pride and excellence. can't get any better.

Great place to be. The receptionist Yusuf, Saeed our room boy and Wahap our waiter are truly Champions. The new GM is always present and takes care of his guests. The Prodiver team is very professional. Truly we will come back to meet the family! Our paradise 🫶

I visited Komandoo island in September 2024. As 2 months have now passed, I’m ashamed to say that I have forgotten a lot of the names of the wonderful staff, The Champions as they are called, who really make this resort stand out from other resorts we have visited in the Maldives but each and every one of them are so lovely and will do anything in their power to make your stay memorable. After a lovely scenic ride on the seaplane, we landed by the nearby pontoon, where a speed boat comes and picks you up and transports you to the resort, which only takes a few minutes. We were dropped off at the jetty where we walked along to the welcoming drums and singing of The Champions. We were given a cold drink and wet flannel to freshen up. We were given a brief overview of the island and promptly shown to our beach villa and were shown around the room by the champion. The villa was larger than I had anticipated and the outside toilet/shower room was really lovely. The massive four poster bed is the comfiest bed I have ever slept in, and the pillows were amazing. Our bedding was changed every day. Our towels were also changed daily and the room was cleaned every day to a very high standard, as was the bathroom. There was a turndown service provided every evening too. The fridge was very well stocked. There was a half bottle of champagne in an ice bucket in our room on arrival too which was a really nice touch. Having a detached beach villa with sea view, terrace with table and chairs and our very own sun loungers was perfect and our own private strip of beach right outside our door was awesome. There is also a hose outside the bungalow to remove sand from your feet before entering. The food in the restaurant is of a good standard and the AI wine was perfectly drinkable. The cocktails were of a good standard. The naan station is a highlight where freshly cooked plain, garlic and chilli naans are cooked to order. There is a selection of meat available at this station too. My only complaint is that there is no curry sauce at this station. You have to go back into the restaurant to obtain some sort of sauce from curries that were usually made up of fish or vegetarian options; I would like to have seen more chicken and beef curries on offer. However, a pot of medium and a pot of hot curry sauce by the naans would be a great addition in my opinion. The outside dining areas by the floodlit lagoon are really special. The over-water a-la-cart restaurant is also very good. We took a trip to the 5:8 undersea restaurant which, although is very expensive, was well worth the money for the experience. The food here was simply divine and of course the ambience of the fish swimming around you and the relaxing music to accompany your meal is just perfect. The wine pairing on offer is again quite expensive but they are good measures; just be careful getting on and off the boat after 5 glasses of wine! We returned for the 4th time to the place we call our Happy Place. It's the only place we've ever been to more than twice! Everything from the warm welcome to the waving goodbye revolves around making your stay as perfect as possible. It has been said by many reviews (because it is true!) that it is the Champions that make Komandoo what it is. There are so many resorts in the Maldives to choose from that there needs to be a differentiator/USP to make one successful, and at Komandoo that is the Champions. They are the reason the percentage of returning guests is so high. Yes the rooms are very comfortable, and the snorkelling on the reef excellent, but all this means nothing if the staff aren't friendly. No worries at Komandoo. Everyone wants you to enjoy yourself to the max and will go out of their way to make sure you do. So much so that they have an inate ability to remember your room number, and preferred drinks, within minutes of your first interaction, making you feel even more welcomed. The buffet food is very good with themed nights, and the Aqua restaurant gives a more intimate venue. Different to many restaurants, there are no stations that waiters manage, you are assigned a waiter when you first go into Falhu restaurant, and that waiter is with you for the duration of your stay. Doesn't matter where you sit in the buffet restaurant, whether you order a special dinner (beach, jungle etc) or order room service, your waiter will sort it for you. You really start to appreciate the extra steps that are taken. We had Haneef as our waiter and couldn't have asked for more. The service was great, he served us when we had a jungle dinner, and was always welcoming and willing to have a laugh with you. The two bars are just as welcoming, the Thundi bar at one end of the island, on the beach and the main Kandu bar up by the pool and buffet restaurant. The staff always ensuring you have anything you need and remembering your drinks from your previous time. Thanks go to Vipan and Biji for looking after us most, especially at Thundi bar, where you get a bit more of a breeze to cool you down and can watch the sunsets. The reef around the island is great for snorkelling, with a shallow lagoon, but most of the more interesting life is found just outside the lagoon at the drop-off. That's not to say there isn't anything in the lagoon... you can always find the resident herons walking round the shoreline and in the morning and late afternoon, watch the small black tipped sharks chasing the shoals of small fish right up on the shoreline. In summary, if you want a relaxed, quiet holiday in paradise, choose Komandoo. Only 65 villas means you never feel crowded and the majority of villas on the beach are secluded by plenty of greenery. There may not be loads of motorised watersports, or any golf courses, nightclubs etc, but that is the whole reason we love it so much, it is just so relaxing.

In our opinion, Komandoo Island Resort & Spa is simply a paradise for adults to relax, unwind and simply unwind! On arrival we experienced a warm welcome, very friendly staff who are accommodating and helpful. The location with the reefs on the west and east side of the island with their biodiversity (turtles, sharks, moray eels, puffer fish and much more) is simply a MUST for divers and snorkelers. The accommodation was very clean and well-kept and the catering options in our case with full board were absolutely flawless and completely adequate. We can say: highly recommended and we plan to come again. Many thanks to all the staff on the island who made our vacation unforgettable! R.+F.

Wunderschöne grüne Barfußinsel mit sehr schönen Strandvillen, die durch ihre abgesetzte Lage das Gefühl kleiner "Privatbuchten" am Strand vermitteln. Der Service und das Essen sind hervorragend. Ich war das dritte Mal dort und die Neuerung, dass auch ohne All Inclusive das Trinkwasser unbegrenzt enthalten ist hat mich sehr gefreut! Das Personal ist durchweg kompetent und herzlich - man fühlt sich sehr willkommen. Das Hausriff bietet jede Menge Fische, manchmal kommen Delfine vorbei und auch die Tierwelt an Land (und in der Luft) erfreut das Herz. Flughunde, verschiedene Vogelarten, Geckos, Eidechsen und Libellen sind ansässig. Der Abschied fällt immer schwer und ich komme bestimmt wieder.
