Giannoulis - Grand Bay Beach Resort (Exclusive Adults Only)

From the warm greeting by the lovely Natasha plus a glass of bubbly we were made very welcome to this amazing hotel right on the beach with a fab swim up bar. We are three couples in our 70’s and have to say this was one of the most relaxing 2 weeks we have had on a holiday, we met some lovely people whilst there. Shout out to all the staff for making our holiday memorable, must mention Andreas, Costa,Nico, Matao,Mandalin and Zoe (sorry if names not spelt correctly). Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a relaxing low key holiday hope to return.

We wholeheartedly and sincerely recommend this hotel. We spent 10 unforgettable nights here. We traveled with the ITAKA agency, and upon arrival — we reached the hotel on schedule around 3 AM — a meal was waiting for us in our room (a room with a pool), which was extremely kind, along with a coffee machine, kettle, and a full range of accessories for hot drinks like coffee or tea. The gentleman at the reception warmly welcomed us and escorted us to our room, which was wonderful because we were completely exhausted after the journey. From early morning, of course, there were meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner (on Mondays, you can book an Olive Night — excellent food). Overall, the service was wonderful — very attentive to guests, smiling, and kind. The rooms were cleaned daily, towels were replaced, and every day there were small candies before dinner — a nice gesture. The drinks were strong! Not watered down — really great. Since our check-out was at 11:00 AM but our departure from the hotel was only at 10:00 PM, we asked for a late check-out — and it was granted without any problem! The pools were spotless and cleaned daily. The hotel is intimate, quiet, and peaceful — but the staff works very efficiently and focuses on the guests' needs. We wholeheartedly recommend it!

Good service and very nice and accommodating staff. Very good cleaning and nice evening service from the cleaning staff who came by every evening and asked if we needed anything. Good and varied food and always clean and tidy in the restaurant. The staff in the pool bar were very service-minded.

If your looking for a total chill out with no blaring music, no organised games just a beautiful location right on the beach with amazing staff that can't do enough for you this is the place to be. Special thanks to Spyros the manager for making it special, the wonderful ladies in reception Natassa, Katarina & Anna & definitely not forgetting Andreas in the Pool Bar & Costas in the main bar for looking after our liquid intake. This is one destination that we will be returning to.

We booked a sea view, shared swim up and were All Inclusive + or Premium as it's referred to at the hotel. I had been concerned over the mixed reviews, however, I was relieved to find that we had the best holiday here! We had a corner room not in the photographed block but just to the side and the room was huge! We arrived late at night and the chap on reception was extremely friendly on check in and there were wraps in our room which was a lovely touch. The view from our room was absolutely stunning and the same when we dined at the main buffet. I felt so comfortable here, it's a small hotel so feels very relaxed. I feel like some might find the buffet small but we had no issues with it and have stayed at larger hotels with more choice before. We also ate at the A LA Carte which was included in our PAI. The staff were excellent particularly Andreas, Kostas and Natasha although all the staff work very hard to make people's holidays exceptional! If I was going to be very picky I'd say the gym would benefit from improvement, even just replacing the missing 7.5kg dumbbell, but I do appreciate the majority of people when we were there weren't using it. We found Hero Fitness a 15 minute walk away and a pass was 7 euros per person. We did have someone come round maybe once a day to get drinks orders at the swim up and my husband would have preferred this a bit more frequently but it's a 5 minute walk to the bar so not a significant problem. We are already looking at booking again next year as our experience was so good, I cant imagine never going back and a lot of other travellers there seemed to have visited multiple times. We had a Spa massage as part of our PAI and this was also excellent. I would highly recommend the hotel and hope to be back next June!!

Zoe and Natasha if we could give you 10 stars we would! From the moment we arrived to when we left we were treated like valued customers, made to feel special. We arrived just after midnight and were greeted warmly by a lovely receptionist who even carried one of our heavy suitcases to our room where sandwiches and drinks were provided for us .We were extremely pleased with our room which was a sea view suite,a huge comfortable bed, plenty of storage, large wardrobe with a light which came on when opening, a small table with two chairs, a sofa, armchair, large desk with modern flatscreen tv, fridge, coffee machine and kettle with plenty of coffee and tea provided. Bathroom, bath with shower and screen, plenty of shampoo, shower gel provided, towels, bathrobes, slippers and pool towels. Our room was lovely and clean and the cleaners did a great job and were so friendly. The food was wonderful, never struggled to find something to eat we had an A la carte meal in the restaurant, it was amazing, the octopus was so good I’m still talking about it! The hotel has a family owned feel about it, although it’s not, it’s intimate, it’s not large so everything is nearby. Some of the rooms have swim up pools or shared which looked great, we were a little jealous and wished we had booked one but the communal pool with swim up bar was just as good. Plenty of sun beds on the beach we never struggled to get one. Our first morning we went to the pool bar and were warmly greeted by Andreas who remembered everyone’s name and what they liked to drink, he made the most delicious cocktails as did Kostas, they really are a wonderful team and made our holiday special, as did Vlad and Mandolin who worked so hard but always with a smile, in fact the staff really make this place special probably the friendliest we have encountered on holiday. Entertainment is quite low key but that is what we like, a violinist one night, singing due one night, my favourite a saxophone player and one night a bit more upbeat with a DJ playing music. The hotel is in a village, right out of the hotel and right again at the end of the road, nice to walk in an evening a small harbour, plenty of restaurants, shops in the older part, the newer part of the village, turn right out of the hotel then turn left at the end of the road, a couple of shops with beach accessories, and further on a large supermarket, there is also a lovely ceramic shop with some beautiful pieces just before the supermarket. A bus to Chania stops outside the hotel, it can get very hot and crowded though, the monastery in the village is worth a visit, really interesting. We will definitely be returning as we had such a lovely visit, the staff really make such a difference so friendly and we need to come back for the cocktails, already missing them!
