Thiptara Resort

If you're looking for a resort close to the beach, near local restaurants, and most importantly, a place that offers peace and relaxation—Thiptara Resort is the perfect choice! We originally booked 4 nights for our first trip to Thailand, but due to unexpected stormy weather, we had to extend our stay for one more night. Surprisingly, we were actually happy about it because it meant we got to enjoy our beautiful room for an extra day! The resort owners, Sebastian and his partner, are incredibly kind and welcoming. They went above and beyond to assist us with anything we needed. The staff is friendly, always smiling, and the resort's restaurant offers everything you could ask for. Our room was spotlessly clean, and we truly felt at home. We can’t wait to come back to Koh Samui and stay at Thiptara Resort again! thank you!

Everything was good aside from the smell coming from the bathroom but I think it’s a recurring problem in Thailand. Our check out was at 11 and the lady at the front dest was rooming around the property at 10:20 to make sure we were leaving. Then at 10:50 she came again as we were getting out and rushed us by taking some of our stuff out with us. We felt a little bit unwelcome at this time. I can understand they wanted us out by 11 but come on.

This is one of my favorite stays so far in Thailand. Management and staff are responsive, and kind. Just a block from a beach access point, the bungalows are well spaced with plenty of greenery surrounding. The bathroom is well lit, well ventilated naturally by an opening around the top. It is spacious with separate areas for toilet, sink/mirror, and shower, preventing shower water from getting in the other areas. There are towel bars, bidet, stationary shower head and handheld shower head. The main room is also well lit with natural light during the day, as well as multiple overhead lights with additional table lamps. There is plenty of built in storage (wardrobe, and along the wall opposite the bed) to keep things organized and out of the way. The air conditioning works perfectly and WiFi reaches the room well. I did not try the television. The porch has a table and seating in good condition, as well as a large drying rack. The pool is a good size for hanging out and has some fun lights. Water and toilet paper are provided daily. Overall the rooms and property are well decorated and pleasing. Things that could be improved: the bedding is microfiber which is hot and uncomfortable on the skin. Cotton would be more comfortable and cooling. The towels are large and fluffy however they seem to shed white fuzz, which sticks to the body, bedding and clothing. I’m not sure if they are just new towels that will shed less eventually? I would definitely stay here again.

Excélent séjour! Un très bel endroit à très peu de distance de la plage (à mon avis, 100m). Un personnel, de la responsable aux dames chargés du nettoyage toujours à l'écoute avec beaucoup de gentillesse. Le seul problème étant la sortie de la piscine qui reste un problème au vue de l'escalier et de l'échelle inox dont les montants s'ont beaucoup trop gros.

This should not be classed as a "resort." We were given 1 roll of toilet paper and 2 bottles of water when we arrived, and then that was it !! There is no room make-up or cleaning unless you pay extra and no daily drinking water or toilet paper at all, and the bed was also so uncomfortable. We have stayed at other budget resorts and bungalows on Samui and Phangnan, and this lack of the basics is never the norm! The nearby beach was a complete mess. We were shocked by the sheer amount of rubbish on it.
