The Postcard Mandalay Hall, Kochi

After staying at their property at Durrung, we selected this property to stay in Kochi The room and the facilities fine Food here was pathetic No taste ... no ethnic We had 2 meals Both are pathetic Food has no taste! Overall, very lousy experience here !

What a beautiful property. In the Jewish quarter on a street which doesn’t allow cars. Every element is so artistically done - the rooms are called galleries and has an artwork by a different artist. Love the postcards and the travel tags. Sense of asthetic is amazing! Really enjoyed staying in this historic place

The Poscard Mandalay Hall Cochin was outstanding for so many reasons - the Front of House Manager Ranjiit and his staff went above and beyond for service and dedication to this amazing boutque Hotel in the heart of Jew Town Cochin. Our stay was so memorable The housekeeping and the rooms were simply fabulous. The photograps on TA definately dont do it justice. From the first moment they collected is from our taxi at the end of their road (the location is pederstrian only) to the time we left the hotel. Check out the new internal mural which is NOT SHOWN on the TA photos when you visit Their attention to detail goes above and beyond aything we have experienced in India and we travelled quite extensively. We have stayed in amazing five star hotels and The Postcard Mandalay Hall was simply the best!.. Little touches - like a straw for drinks was always presented in a little box. The "take me home" bag was left onthe bed before our departure so that we could take home the toiletries. The black and white striped luggage tags attached to our luggage. The friendliest lovliest staff so highly trained to make one feel special. The little restaurant served lovely food and the breakfast smoothies - delicious. Thank you Postcard we will be visiting your other properties

If I could, I would rate it 7 stars. What a gem. In the midst of Jew town, quiet and tranquility. The place has only 5 rooms and each one is different. Service is above and beyond. Breakfast is served… whenever you want. We needed to leave to the airport early, no problem. Breakfast was ready for us @ 6.30. The manger Sudhir ( I think and forgive me if I am wrong) is the most welcoming, helpful manager. He personally took care of us and made sure we are catered for. A fantastic hotel. If you can afford it, don’t hesitate. It is worth every penny. Kudos.

I rarely write reviews and if I do they are appreciative of the hotel and stay. However am forced to make an exception given my experiance at the hotel. I happened to stay at the hotel for a night earlier this month. Booked directly and was told the size of the room would be close to 600sq ft. The hotel is in a small lane in touristic location and they help you with your luggage. Listed below are the issues I faced: 1. Even before I settled in at the lobby was presented a bill to pay the rest of the amount due, less than 50 percent of the total amount. 2. The room was not even half the size I was told it was. On enquiring I was pointed to a small patch of land with a tree which can not even be accessed. Was also told they wanted to give me another room which was larger, but unfortunately that was occupied!! A very normal room and the amenities they claim to be luxurious are pretty normal run of the mill stuff you find in any good hotel these days. 3. I could not get a wink of sleep either in the afternoon or at night. Sounds of footsteps coming from the floor above can be very disturbing. The management did inform the guests above, am sure they did not tip toe for the rest of their stay. 4. The digital lock system on the door kept malfunctioning and raising wierd noises. The number given to open also is one that can be easily guessed by anybody. Wonder how do they ensure security beyond their staff. 5. The pool is dirty and not useable. The staff did try to be as polite, apologetic and accommodating as possible. However the stay had already been ruined. Am surprised at the great ratings the property has received. Probably am old fashioned and able to appreciate the finer elements in the room. However I value my sleep and vehemently object to misinformation sold to customers. In the name of "boutique" I do feel certain hotel chains are over promising, considerably over pricing and under delivering.

We had a wonderful dinner at Postcard Mandalay Hall. The chef prepared authentic Kerala food that was both flavorful and enjoyable. Mr. Vivek's service was exceptional, and the ambiance was great. It's the best place to visit in Kochi for delicious, local, and authentic cuisine.
