I have travelled all over Thailand for many years and there seems to be a general attitude problem on Lanta that you don't seem to get further North. And then you get people that should really not be in hospitality at all. The guy that runs this place seems focused on cost cutting with no consideration for the guess experience. Wherever you look there are notices threatening fines or immediate check-out. When you check in the receptionist reads out a warning from her paper about a 1500 baht fine if you separate the room key from the tag that activates the room electricity. Not a welcoming introduction after an already disorganized check-in. These rooms heat up really quickly when the aircon is not running so guests would want to take the key off and leave the aircon running to return to a nice cool room after dinner. We stayed for a week and got to see the workings of this place. It is mostly run by a young Thai lady on reception and three young ladies from Myanmar do everything else. Breakfast is prepared but these same staff with no qualified chef that we could see. The eggs are dry, Vienna sausage and ham all lying in the bain-marie from early morning. We watched many guests take a look and then go to the restaurant next door for some freshly cooked eggs. The resort is not very well located. It is halfway down a narrow alley from the main road thru Lanta and it is quite a walk from the resort to the beach. Fortunately, there are some nice eating places nearby since Asura has no restaurant or bar. Most guests seem to stay one night. We watched the three staff reset the rooms after checkout for the next guests and the most disturbing part was rather than changing the linen, sheets were turned over and reused for the next batch of guests. The linen towels are old and tired and probably couldn't withstand many more wash cycles. After the room resets were done, we watched the same three staff busy with gardening duties in the afternoon. On the positive side, the pool in front of the rooms is lovely. The rooms are poorly designed, the TV is quite useless but they generally clean and mostly functional. Would I stay here again? Definitely not.

Fräsch hotell men kanske lite b&b känsla Superfint hotell med fin och trevlig pool. Lugnt område, nära till massor av restauranger, massage, taxi, 7eleven och väldigt nära stranden + hjälpsam personal + fräscha rum + fräsch och modern pool + man fick inte ”reservera” platser kring poolen vilket gjorde att det alltid fanns plats på solstolar när man behövde - skyltar överallt med varning om böter vid misskötsel gällande allt möjligt, gjorde det lite omysigt - personal väldigt dåliga på engelska, svårt (nästan omöjligt) att kommunicera - nyckelkort slutade plötsligt funka 3-4 gånger under våran vecka så receptionen behövde uppdatera det. - finns endast frukost annars ingen möjlighet för mat, snacks - ingen möjlighet till hjälp av hotellet för att t.ex. boka taxi - ganska knaper frukost

Excellent pool, my guess close to 60M. Breakfast good. Location OK... about 300M to beach, 200M to 7-eleven on main road. 20 minute walk into Saladan town. My main problem is that in a 7 day stay my KeyCard "checked out early".... Twice. On one occasion in the evening with no hotel staff on hand to reprogram it leaving my in a dark non-AirConned room overnight. On another iccasion I got back to my room to find no water supply for a few hours.
