6 on Protea

Our overall experience was a very good one, with a warm homely atmosphere. We received excellent service. Our airconditioned room and en suite was in immaculate condition with good provisions eg. Fully equipped kitchenette area with crockery, cutlery etc fresh drinking water provided every day. A friendly Anna gladly prepared our breakfast every morning and ensured our needs were met. Views of Knysna, lagoon and The Heads are magnificent. We will gladly return for another stay.

A really lovely 2 night stay at this centrally located, yet peaceful guest house. Our room led out onto well kept gardens. Tea and coffee facilities were provided, and Anita was exceptionally helpful with many of our requests. Breakfast was fabulous and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Would recommend.

We arrived at 6 On Protea Guesthouse, in bright blue skies after having a superb walk on a nearby beach. Check in was efficient and quick and there, waiting for my loved one was a chilled bottle of sparkling Rose… Sadly my loved one never showed, so the wife had it instead. Well it was her birthday and the least I could have done for a lady that has put up with me for 35 years… A fantastic view over the bay, a room which was clean, tidy and had all that was needed including snack cooking facilities. Opening the patio doors revealed a spacious raised balcony. Even the building work in a newly erected house a few metres away didn’t detract from the experience or the scene. Breakfast next morning was prepared with care and attention. Orders had had to be placed the night before, which is not something I personally like. But I get it as it does help onsite preparation. And in fairness this minor irritation was far outweighed by the fantastic fruit and yoghurt, mega croissants with cheese and avocado, plus a full English (sorry South African) that was cooked to perfection. But best of all was the view on the terrace. Quite simply as good as anything I’ve ever experienced. Simply stunning and a real contrast to the view later in the day which was grey and miserable with visibility in the driving rain down to a few metres… As we left, two days later the sun was shining again. Time for us to move on. But time for some other lucky couple to have our room with a view.

We had the most wonderful stay. Anita made us feel so welcome. From our room with annamazingly beautiful view, to the most delicious breakfast on the patio. We were truly spoilt. Thank you Anita and your team. We will definitely be back. Roland and Santie, Kimberley
