Holiday Inn Express KITTY HAWK – OUTER BANKS

Great location, easy to find and everything 'as advertised'. Decor in room was very nice, seemed updated! We had very little shower pressure, yet it was enough to actually 'shower'. I'm glad the window shade was heavy duty, it kept the heavy sun out to be as cool as possible. The air was a bit loud and literally hot/cold- we just kept it cooler than preferred to ensure it didn't get/stay hot. it was a GREAT touch they left it on cool for our arrival- thank you! Pool looked inviting, we just couldn't make time to use it. We booked it last minute to join a family vaca opportunity- they were in a bigger house up north, we got as close as we could- great option. We'll be back!!

The staff ALL were amazingly nice and thoughtful. The room quality was excellent. The gas grills worked to perfection we did a small cookout. The location was excellent close to many of the public beaches. I would highly recommend and we would stay again.

I would never ever pick this property for my next trip. We went with family for 2 nights, however, both the nights the air conditioner was not working to adjust the temperature for the room. We brought this to the management attention and second day after they "tried" to help with their tecnician, it still didnt work. We didnt sleep the entire two nights since the temperature outside (90s) and inside was quite close and with adjusting AC temperature all the night was not fun. When we requested to meet with the manager, this General manager "Mandy Phillips" came to our aid. She kept arguing with us that the temperature was adjusted. However, when we asked who can we speak with in her leadership chain, she told she is the GM and does not report to 'Anyone". I was like sure with that kind of crappy job, who would want you to ...anyway, she asked us to "Leave her establishment". We have never had such a terrible experience in any hotel establishment that we have ever traveled. --- Those who plan to stay/book this one - please be careful with their room and GM temperature ...they all need just adjustment -- I am still so furious just by thinking of that mistreatment. Carpets were never serviced, as they had lot of dark spots on a light color carpet especially when the bed is more towards the wall. The water in the tub has its own mood...will turn from cold to hot whenever it wants.... Overall - Holiday Inn Express anywhere is off the charts for us.

Sehr herzlicher Empfang zu später Stunde. Das Zimmer etwas beengt, aber sauber. Auch war alles vorhanden, was ich brauchte. Zudem einige lokale Fotos an den Wänden, die alles wohnlicher machen. Lobenswert, dass täglich die Zimmerreinigung erfolgte, auch wenn diese nur oberflächlich war. Aber ein gemachtes Bett, ist gleich angenehmer. Zum Frühstück wurde nur das typisch amerikanische angeboten, was als dahingehend verwöhnter Europäer nicht mein Fall ist.

In the room we were originally allocated, we could clearly hear conversations from the next room. We asked to be moved and could only be given an accessible room, but it was much quieter. Breakfast was good with a friendly and welcoming hostess. The hotel is close to the beach and well located for visiting the Wright Brothers memorial and other attractions on the Outer Banks. It was expensive for a Holiday Inn Express, but that’s probably due to its location in a holiday destination.

Beautiful hotel, looks very new and organized staff were amazing and helpful, even the Summer staff at breakfast were exceptional, loved the location and near by all restaurants and Duck area , for sure we are coming back for weekend soon, nice break

My wife and I used to stay here in the past, but the old HI Express hotel was bought by another lodging company, so we stopped. When we noticed that the property was back in good hands again, we came back. The hotel is really nice, both inside and out. Our room was very comfortable, everything worked and it felt good to be back again. I like that everything is nearby, and we decided to eat at the Sanya Asian Bistro. Its right out the front door. Recommended. Thanks again for a comfortable stay.

Check in process was easy, fast, and friendly. The room was clean and nice. The bed was very comfortable and I had a great night's sleep. The breakfast was nice. Less crowded earlier in the morning, but still nice. Coffee was decent too. I would absolutely stay here again.

I am writing in response to your response to Kristins review. We are the people that the prescription pills were found in the bed, ( Yes it is true we did get a 50 percent refund). The point is. Neither me or my husband takes those prescriptions and for you to suggest that we put them there is ridiculous. I can assure you. We would rather pay full price for our room , then find prescription pills in our bed.(meaning our sheets were never cleaned after the people prior to us) one of the children almost ate a prescription pill off the floor. (Yes your staff asked if he needed medical attention but seriously how was the freaking pills there to begin with). Your response was it was only blood pressure and cholesterol pills! I don't care if it was aspirin. It should not have been there !!! then he almost ate crackers left by someone else in the corner of the floor. Your hotel is filthy and people need to be aware of this before booking it even for one night for over 300 dollars. You can try to defend it all you want. This place needs to be shut down!
