My wife and I came for an overnight stay to celebrate a special anniversary. We were not disappointed. The spa massage which we had scheduled for our arrival was pleasant and we were treated by competent and caring masseuses. The room and the other facilities in the hotel were as one might anticipate at this type of hotel. Both dinner and breakfast were outstanding, probably the best buffet type hotel dinning I have experienced, hands down the best in Israel. I have not hesitation in recommending the Cramim Hotel and Spa. Having said all this, I would not award the hotel five stars for reasons which are easily remedied or issues which should never be found: 1) Cleanliness is an issue, dust can be found in common areas and in the (our) rooms without looking for it. 2) We visited (by chance) on one of the coldest days of the year. The common areas, in particular in the spa, were not warm. One guest said to us in conversation, "I don't get it, this place is a spa, it should be warm and comfortable, it's freezing, that's why I'm wearing this sweatshirt and not one of the (terrycloth) robes provided". The corridor on our floor was absolutely cold, there was no discernible heat, it really was a case of bringing the outdoors, inside. 3) The hotel staff were overall excellent in their own areas, however there was very little expression of esprit de corps which is de rigueur for five star establishments. 4) The appearance of some of the staff was not slovenly, but certainly under par. I can appreciate that the hotel is not of the cord and braided uniform variety, but management needs to pay more attention to the overall feeling they want to impart to guests. 5) The level of English among the staff does not befit a five star establishment, (it was not a problem for me as I am fluent in Hebrew). This is easily improved by providing some lessons which are geared to providing services to guests. 6) A final note. Prior to our visit I wrote to Isrotel's customer service e-mail, mentioning that we were coming to celebrate a special wedding anniversary, and some acknowledgment of this detail would make our stay more pleasurable. They responded that they would forward this to the hotel and that this would be attended to, conditions permitting. The hotel had a fair number of guests, but nothing that should have overtaxed the staff. Again, this is a minor detail, and I do not mention it to register a complaint, rather it is another indication that the General Manager is not affixing his eye sharply enough on the ball. So, four stars instead of five.
