Northern Light Huts

We have spent 4 of the best nights of our life at the Northern Light Camp. The camp is situated at Poikkijarvi, a small village 18 kms east of Kiruna, on the south bank of the Torn river, a quiet and magic spot surrounded by trees, squirrels and colorful birds. The wooden hut we stayed in is so cozy, clean, warm and lovely. It has everything one needs to let you live the most amazing northern experience one can desire, far beyond any expectations. I suggest you rent a car if you decide to stay there as there are few chances to move around if not. About that, we had a problem with our car rental and our guests have been so kind and friendly they helped us by giving us a lift to Kiruna the first day for food stocks and by taking us to the airport the day after to fix our car rental issue. They have been so welcomy and available in a difficult moment we won't never forget. Besides, they organize many activities, among which the northern lights hunting, and suggested us a wonderful hiking track to mount Aptasvaara we enjoyed so much. This place is magical, the cabin we stayed in had everything we needed and was extremely comfortable, warm and cosy. The wood burner was a huge bonus. We cooked outside using the fire pit, used the onsite sauna and went on snow mobile tour. The hosts Elin & Joel could not have been more helpful and we loved hearing their stories about the local area and experiences, Joel cleared a pathway across the lake so we could visit the village, nothing was too much trouble … this is truely a stunning paradise with amazing hosts. We would highly recommend and we will definitely come back.
