Comfort Inn South

Was in town for kingsport funfest. The hotel has a Wonderful staff. Beautiful location. Easy access. Very nice, spacious, clean rooms. Would highly recommend this location. ( didn't take advantage of the free breakfast, pool or gym)....

The check-in was quick and easy, and the manager on duty was very friendly. When we found our light did not work, the gentleman came immediately and fixed the problem. The room was clean and comfortable. Would stay here again.

Lacking. In need of repairs, Didn’t feel safe at all. Ok clean. Had kids and pool was totally nasty green and closed without posting before we booked that it was closed. Very sketchy area, didn’t feel safe as a woman and having kids. Pet friendly but you have to cross the street for a potty area. Will not be back. Please be careful.

Rounded out a 1,700-mile journey to visit my ailing - but recovering - brother in New Jersey. Staff accepted my request for a room on top floor facing back. The Inn is right next to a fire dept station but luckily there were no emergencies. Room (340) was spacious and clean. Recently installed "smart" TV was a major challenge to dial in. I asked the front desk for some assistance and was rebuffed, gruffly, with the "I have no idea and there is no one else here" routine. Also the phone did not work (labeled room 339) and I received the same "good luck, pal" reply. I can recommend Comfort Inn (caution: major rate hikes on race weekends); but the fellow at the front desk needs an injection of guest-is-priority courtesy.

We were a tad bit disappointed to see that there were signs on the front door stating they were under renovation but were ready to live with that. Upon arriving Kevin was behind the front desk. He barely acknowledged me and seemed quite uninterested in assisting me to check in. He asked for my phone number and I've stayed at many hotels and hadn't been asked this previously so I said "oh..why do you need that?"...and he simply grunted and proceeded to write something down . He asked me to initial and sign a paper ...I inquired as to what I was asked to sign (I didn't have my glasses on so couldn't read it) and he said he couldn't tell me....so I proceeded to get my glasses. I noticed that he'd hand-written something on the paper and it said something like "guest refused to give phone number"...I was appalled !...I'd never "refused", I simply asked "why"....When we got to our room, the TV didn't work so my husband called and dealt w/Kevin. We were given a different room. The whole experience was incredibly uncomfortable. As a hotel goes, it does need quite a bit of updating. The breakfast was less than average. As we left I spoke w/the Assistant Manager, just sharing my experience, and she was super nice.

We stopped for one night. The room was fine with a microwave, coffeemaker, fridge, big-screen TV and good WiFi. The lobby was ... to be skipped. Loitering people. Free breakfast? Coffee was okay. There was one of those waffle makers. Other than that? Nothing. It reminded me of the days of the pandemic when motels just stopped their free breakfast.

I called and was told they had a hot breakfast. When we checked in I found out their beds have no box springs and the mattress sit upon a piece of metal instead in a bed frame. Every time you got out or in bed you heard this loud banging sound. It was terrible. The next day their hot breakfast consisted of a waffle iron. They had a steam table set up like you would put bacon, sausage, eggs etc. in it but none ever appeared. They did have Walmart great value Yogurt and great value cereal. The rolls were hard as could be. Do your self a favor and don't stay here if you can avoid it.

This hotel is older and therefore slightly smaller rooms, but it is well-maintained and clean. The staff is helpful and friendly, willing to go out of their way to meet guests' schedules. Our room was 2 double beds, extra length -- very adequate. The grab bar by the tub was a nice plus, as was lots of electric and USB outlets. The beds are a COMFORTABLE height -- not what we have found at some other Comfort hotels where you had to climb/jump into them. These were very comfortable both getting into and sleeping. A receipt was slipped under the door before we awoke the next morning -- a nice convenience.
