Stayed for one night but have dined here on several occasions. The room was lovely, comfortable, and clean, with an excellent breakfast offering many choices. The food has consistently exceeded typical inn fare. The staff were friendly and extremely welcoming.

Had a really superb meal. Everything was perfect. They are now doing fantastic pies, and I mean proper pies with pastry bottoms, and no soggy bottoms either. None of this stew with a pastry hat on. Pastry was light and crisp, filling was generous and beautifully cooked. I had the steak and ale, but have also had the chicken and ham before. Both were perfect. Plenty of other pub classics on offer too. Open fires and friendly staff. What is there not to like? Plenty of parking too.

Had a steak in the evening it was lovely, I wasn't very impressed with the breakfast, no brown bread offered sourdough, but it just looked like a chunk of white bread, didn't eat. sausages were burnt, mushrooms, tomato and egg was nice.

Overall - Good
Overall, a good stay. Friendly staff and good food. There is a weird, quite load humming/droning noise outside room 2 which would benefit investigation as it was quite annoying when trying to sleep.

Short break away.
We arrived early and Linda and John kindly let us leave our bag while we went off for the afternoon.
The bed was comfy, the room was clean and had everything you need.
I'm only 5.4" and wear contact lenses, I found the mirrors were difficult to see into, either on tiptoe leaning over the sink or not in the bathroom. The bathroom was very small with no room to put anything.
The shower was really powerful but very hot (scalding), we needed to set it to cold and then get it gradually warmer.
The weather was hot and there was a fan in the room, which really helped.
On the whole, we had a lovely break away, the food was mostly good and staff were all very friendly. We had a lovely couple of days away.
The Inn is close to the beaches and town.

Friendly staff, great service
Very friendly staff who accommodated our special request for a slightly earlier check-in - Very nice breakfast and choices, as well as a nice bar with a very good menu and ample portion size. It's about a 20 minute drive from Salcombe, but very convenient if you have a car. Would be very happy to stay there again.

Lovely location and the Inn is in a lovely setting. Plenty of parking, clean, comfortable room and lovely breakfast.
