Killarney Royal Hotel

Very disappointed with our stay here, room was lovely to be fair, we were in a suite, but it smelled like mould. Found that there was black mould on the ceiling in the bathroom, doesn't seem to be proper ventilation in there, and i would say that was the smell. I had asked for flowers to be left in the room for my wife as it was our 10th wedding anniversary. But they forgot. They apologised and said I wouldn't be charged for them, which made me laugh.. we had dinner included with the package, and unfortunately it was terrible. Had the pork belly for starters and it was just mushy fat, it was awful, had the braised beef brisket for main and it was so dry. My wife had a fish dish, which was swimming in oil. Breakfast was nice to be fair. Overall we were very disappointed with our stay, couldn't see us returning.

This hotel exudes class from the very moment you enter. It has charming features throughout. The rooms are spacious, well fitted-out and maintained, and spotlessly clean. Guests are treated royally and attentively by the excellent service delivery team from the very moment they enter, until they leave. It is situated near the heart of the town and about 2 minutes walk from the railway station. Note that guests will pass the Great Southern Hotel on their way from the railway station to the hotel ; they have complimentary access to its leisure facilities - another reason for choosing the Killarney Royal. The food and drinks offerings are varied, well priced, well presented, copious and, most especially, delicious. What more could the discerning guest want?

Excellent location, within minutes walking distance to train station, restaurants, and tour bus meet-up. I had a spacious, clean room and enjoyed it very much! I checked in late in the evening after getting off the train from Galway and the staff were courteous and accommodating.

Killarney is such a beautiful town and the Royal hotel is a great base to explore the town and the Ring from. Our room was spacious and quiet, all be it a little outdated, and the bed was super comfortable and luxurious. The bathroom was a great size and the shower had good pressure, but at times there appeared to be a smell coming up the drain, but manageable. Sadly when we arrived there were dirty bedsheets left in the room, and the Iron was on and extremely hot, but again we were able to sort this, but perhaps something for management to note. I can’t say enough about the staff, they were so polite and helpful, the turn down service and the pool and spa at the sister hotel ‘the great southern’ were added treats to our stay. And the Christmas decor was gorgeous. We very much enjoyed our breakfasts each morning, but wouldn't recommend the porridge as it was made with just water and came with no fruit/sryup. Overall, this is a very nice hotel and we had a great time but there were just some things that could be improved.

A very enjoyable few days . Thanks to Nuala and her team for their hospitality and excellent service . We liked th greeting card. The complimentary coffee and scones were delicious . Your dinner menu was superb . Preference for a hand-held shower control . Comfortable and spacious room . Keep up the good work Nuala and Team !!

Beautiful hotel, very centrally located. Room was spacious with 2 beds, TV, air conditioning. Bathroom was very spacious too with his and hers wash basin, shower/bath. There was a putting golf stick and golf balls and receiver to practice putting. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Breakfast was more than adequate, catering for all taste buds including gluten free food. Dinner was beautiful too with good selection from the menu. When we checked out, we were given scones for our journey.
