The Forresters Arms Kilburn

Lovely period pub spoilt by lack of attention. Room pleasant but cold on arrival. Did not warm appreciably despite oil radiator being switched on. Towel rail not working so bathroom cold. No toiletries. Evening meal pleasant and catered for dietary needs. Room still cold after meal and radiators went off at around 21:00 Slept fully clothed to keep warm! Room again cold in morning and then discovered no breakfast available.

Lovely pub hotel, with good food and very friendly and helpful staff

I can't really fault it. The property is nice, staff were really nice, the room was just what we hoped for. We had a lovely evening meal followed by a good nights sleep. Breakfast options were all cooked options, although I'm not a breakfast eater so only had some toast.

Visited Sat 29 Nov. My wife and I have visited Forresters Arms most Saturday afternoon for many years enjoying a glass of wines following our walks in the White Horse area. Always a warm welcome and a good selection of wines. On this visit I was ignored at the bar whilst the bar person kept vanishing, I had to ask for service to get some attention. I asked for a wine list 'We don't have one' was the reply. I asked how am I to know the alcohol content of wines, price etc? Response was 'That is a problem'. I bought a glass of wine for my wife which was fine and a pint of bitter for myself which was awful. Bar person made two attempts to fill the glass which was filling with froth more quickly than the beer was being drawn. Taste was poor, not fresh, no sparkle. I left most of the pint and on leaving noticed a sediment in the bottom of the glass. No warmth or welcome feeling in this pub, so no more for us.

All in all not the friendly clean pub was hoping Mix up over deposit taken was told I owed full amount not half even though I had statement stating taken they just hadn’t claimed it not my fault .. that was at check in after 7 hour drive not what I want checking in .. room very dusty and shower black mould and ledge in bathroom thick dust . Meals ordered in restaurant didn’t come as discribed both main and desert. Breakfast pre ordered night before we asked for 8 as had busy day and needed to get off however still took until 8.30 to be served . Why bother pre order if can’t get it ready for time booked . Supposed to be eco friendly by not giving out toiltrees in room but put plastic water and plastic milk pots in room so surly you would use glass bottles or carafe . Parking was a nightmare as car park near pub full so had to find parking space on road eventually Managed to move car to car park after customers left. All in all I wouldn’t go back too many negatives not friendly Yorkshire pub I was expecting and hoping for another hotel that keeps calling us guys we find this offensive being pensioners

Fantastic spot with great rooms and hospitality Fantastic B&B pub. We booked the day of our stay as a last minute treat. We will definitely be coming back again. Staff are wonderful and inviting, breakfast is fantastic, rooms are lovely and well maintained. We took our two year old daughter and she loved it. She was made really welcome and catered for. We were in the pub with her having dinner until 10pm and no one made us feel unwelcome with her. Thank you so much for our stay!
