-Sugar Beach Resort #407 has been taken down to the studs (if there were such a thing in a concrete complex but you get my drift). This is the true "Sand in toes" experience--no walking across the street to get to the ocean. Sugar Beach Resort is an OCEANFRONT complex. SBR #407 is a fantastic OceanVIEW condo that has been tricked out to the gills. Brand new king sized bed. Brand new 55 inch TV. This place is going to Rock. Sleeps FOUR....King sized bed and new (August 2023 Queen Sleeper sofa. FANTASTIC ocean views all the way down the south Maui coast to Makena. Fourth floor so tons of whale action ( in season--from Thanksgiving until mid April). Beautiful views of Molokini Crater. Southern Exposure--my favorite--morning sun coming up over Haleakala. Free wifi/Free parking/Fee long distance to all of North America. Central AC. No resort Fees. On site Restaurant-Maui's iconic "Dina's Sandwitch". On site Activities Desk. Fabulous Oceanfront pool and hot tub. Five minute walk to "Sugar Beach Bake Shop" for coffee and awesome baked goods (opens at 6AM). Sugar Beach is Maui's longest stretch of sand-nearly five miles long-perfect for long beach walks. Expect to see waaaaaay more Hawaiian sand crabs than humans on your early morning walks (it is located next to a wildlife preserve so very few condo complexes nearby-we had a guest estimate they were outnumbered by 30 to 1-lots of fun for kids). The water is varies from calm to boogie-boarding-worthy (we supply the boogie boards). Sugar beach Resort is fairly isolated from the rest of Kihei so a car is needed...but! That is what makes it so fantastic. It is centrally located so it is the perfect base to explore Maui from...eat dinner in Lahaina (about 30 minutes to the west) one night and eat dinner in Wailea then next night (about 20 minutes to the south). We love Sugar Beach Resort: Central A/C! Free Parking! Free High-Speed Wi-fi! (for real-high speed) Free Basic Cable! Free en-suite Laundry! It's out of the hubbub of Kihei town and next door to a wildlife preserve (Kealia Pond). 407 is the epitome of what a remodel should be....all new appliances, everything in the unit was replaced down to the wood trim (remember, all coastal buildings in south Maui were built in the late 1970's....Maui oceanfront complexes are OLD). We got rid of all of that old stuff. There is a new (August 2023) Queen sized sleeper sofa and blackout window treatments to keep the extra company comfortable. The bathroom can be accessed or closed off via the hallway or bedroom for privacy. There is an on site activities desk and restaurant/bar. Great walking beach. You can rent SUP boards (Stand Up Paddle) on site. Oceanfront pool and Hot tub and even a dry sauna.
