Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa

Lovely location, great views and staff. Room a bit below par compared to price. No access to swimming pool unless pay more, even if you are staying for two nights.

My partner booked this hotel for my birthday. We stayed in the superior double room. The receptionists were lovely and check in was super fast. We went to our room, got changed and went straight to the spa. 2 hours in the spa and all I can say is I could’ve stayed in there all night, the thermal journey in the spa was next level, especially the infinity pool looking over Derwent water. The facilities were immaculate and it didn’t feel too crowded. 17:30, went back to our room to shower and get ready for the evening. We were however met with a problem with the room so called reception who sent the duty manager up to our room straight away, we had this problem rectified within 5 minutes of calling reception who contacted the general manager to speak with us however we didn’t let it spoil our stay. The drinks in the hotel bar were great and not overpriced either! We enjoyed a few of these in the beautiful bar overlooking the sunset on Derwent water. Breakfast the next day was fantastic, there was plenty of continental and hot food choices. Staff were friendly and attentive. When we were checking out we spoke to Marcel the general manager about what occurred the day before and he couldn’t apologise enough, he was so professional and very friendly. We cannot thank him enough for the service he provided, he is a true reflection on this fantastic hotel. We will be returning to Lodore Falls hotel as we loved it so much.

I highly recommend this hotel and spa, the staff are super welcoming, the food is amazing and the rooms are spotless and very comfortable. The spa has a wide range of treatments, we tried a couple and they did not disappoint. We came home feeling super relaxed and refreshed. This is my second visit and it will not be my last. I have visited other hotels and luxury spa's which in honesty have been equally as good but the views from the pool are just beautiful and I would choose this hotel over again to take a dip in the 35 degree pool taking in the beautiful scenery of the lake and Cumbrian mountains. Stunning!

We stayed in a spa room and were on the winter warmer deal which was superb value. The spa rooms are spacious and so close to the spa and outdoor pool. The staff were amazing and could not do enough for us. We ate in both restaurants and had room service breakfast and all were fabulous! Thank you to everyone who looked after us. The location and front of house facilities including restaurants, spa and toilets are lovely. You are able to go on a variety of walks from the hotel. There are also regular bus timetable to go to different locations in the lakes. The breakfast at the hotel was really good and offered a wide selection of food. Evening meal at pan Asian was high quality and good service. We also had afternoon tea which catered to dietary requirements, however, the scones were disappointing as they were quite dry and chewy. Overall the front of house experience was good. However, the room itself was disappointing, on arrival the room had a unpleasant smell, musty almost, there was evidence of food crumbs/crisps underneath the bed side tables suggesting that the room had not been adequately cleaned, when inspecting the bathroom the extractor fan was covered in dust and there was no hand soap. The room and bathroom looked worn like it needed some tlc.the room itself was in the old part of the hotel so was on the dated side, the bedding was comfy and gave us an adequate nights sleep. It was more disappointing with overall cleanliness of the room and not quite what you expect from a spa hotel.

An excellent venue - well worth a visit. My parents came here for their honeymoon in May 1952 and it’s been a family favourite hotel ever since!
