Mains of Taymouth Country Estate Gallops Apartments

Been coming here for years & had a good experience. Recently came to stay myself with my dog, there was a crash on Loch Lomond & the road was closed. Phoned to advise I wouldn’t make it & if they could offer a refund due to the circumstances which they wouldn’t. Travelled through Balloch to get to Stirlingshire to try reach Kenmore. A two hour drive turned into a five hour drive with no idea where I was due to road diversions & closures. Ended up calling it a day & drove home. They offered me to come the next day and stay an extra day which I couldn’t do due to work commitments. Phoned numerous times awaiting a phone call back from the manager who never phoned me back at all. Then sent an email of their terms & conditions which is fair but due to the thousands of pounds I have spent on their property, I am shocked at how little they helped me. £500 gone for nothing, not to mention the fact I booked my stay the night before. Absolute greed & will never return.

We’re a group of girls (60yr) and we were there to celebrate 3 birthdays, the Farmhouse was the very best place to stay for any celebrations, a good size with a good kitchen to cook all our meals, it was also good that we could have our shopping delivered there too, some of us went for a few walks too, the house, area and weather was perfect and we’ll definitely return sometime in the near future

We absolutely love Mains of Taymouth! The accommodation was gorgeous, so clean and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Perfect place for a chilled getaway with our wee doggie. Lots of walks nearby and the courtyard shop on site is great! Can't wait to come back!

Stayed at Granary court for 1 week over the New Year period. We had a number of issues with the house which I reported to reception. Firstly you don’t get access to the property until 4pm to allow them to do there final checks yet when we entered the house the radiator in the main bedroom upstairs wasn’t working, the toilet off the utility room locking mechanism left a lot to be desired, the upstairs shared bathroom has a toilet with half a flushing button and the inside shelves in the wardrobes and bedside cabinet hasn’t seen a duster in a long time. We also discovered a cob web above the cooker and generally not very clean. The heating and hot water stopped working twice, the ground floor kitchen is very cold as the doors have drafts! Hot tub need some maintenance as not working at capacity. Beds were comfortable and kitchen area was well kitted out. Over priced in my opinion for what we got and the issues we were faced with. I think you need to revisit your entry and exit times for all properties and rethink the need to stay for 1 week over the festive period.

Our third time at Mains of Taymouth this year. We have stayed in the Bell Tower, 12B Maxwells and 11 Maxwells. Each time we have had good weather, although that does not matter so much in such a peaceful place. The whole area is exceptional, with everything kept in tip-top condition. Booking is easy and staff are always on hand. The Courtyard Shop and Restaurant are right on the doorstep, along with walks in all directions. The new Crannog is just minutes away.

Our 7th time staying at MoT as we love it here. We have stayed in several properties all great but our 4th time in The Stables. Very spacious with 5 bedrooms but also cosy and very well equipped apart from the knives which are badly in need of being sharpened.
