Hotel Duus by Keflavik Airport

The booking told me I would get 1 x airport transfer, once arriving I found out this was false advertising. The only reason I booked DUUS was for the transfer, so this was extremely disappointing. The hotel staff couldn’t have been less helpful, everyone just kept telling me that didn’t work there.

This hotel is very clean, the room was large and the bed very comfortable. It is situated on a little harbour and we had a nice room with a harbour view. There is a restaurant attached and the food was excellent. My only issue is that it is about a 10 min drive from the airport and the taxi ride one way was 42 euros which translated to $136 Canadian dollars round trip, that was a bit of a sticker shock for a 10 min ride (20 min total).

住一晚，房間比較小，但在冰島還帶私人浴室已經很不容易了。早上提供早餐，還算可以的。staff英文很好，非常熱情！離機場很近。酒店周圍環境好，在Duus博物館旁邊也有自己的餐廳。

The room I was given was quite small, but as I was only there for one night it was all I needed. The bed was comfy, and the shower was hot. Room was clean with fresh water provided. The breakfast was nice, goodly amount of food types available. Staff was friendly, and check out is at noon, which is nice.

My family and I stayed at Hotel Duus for one night right before an early morning flight at KEF airport. The hotel was about 8-10 min drive from KEF. FYI-- there was NO free shuttle between airport and hotel as stated in the amenities. You have to take a taxi to and from airport to hotel unless you are driving a car. Taxi cost us $51 from KEF to hotel and $34 from hotel to KEF (the first taxi overcharged us which is another story). The hotel itself is nice, clean, and remodeled. The room was very nice and comfortable with basic amenities. The check in process took a while because the front desk is not manned. There was instructions to call a number (using their phone on the counter) but the number dialed was constantly busy. Eventually, the guy working at the restaurant (inside hotel) came to front desk to check us in. Everything else after that was good. The area is very pretty and quiet. The restaurant in the hotel was a plus. The food was delicious and service was good. Overall, I recommend this hotel for those who need a place to stay near the airport.

This is the second time we have stayed at Hotel Duus. It is very close to the airport and their restaurant has some of the best meals we experienced in Iceland. Many rooms overlook a fishing bay and it’s very quiet. I dinged them a star because they advertised free shuttle service and they no longer do this! The rooms are quirky, no bathtubs but spacious with tons of electrical outlets. The people are nice and friendly, they have early breakfast to accommodate guests who have early flights out. Wish they had gluten free bread but they did understand gluten intolerance and I could safely eat there.

Customer service is terrible. We brought our rental car back early because this hotel offered a free shuttle to the airport. There is NO SHUTTLE TO THE AIRPORT. Desk staff says that the shuttle has not been in operation since the new year, but it is still advertised. They will call you a taxi. The 5 - 8 minute ride cost 4500ISK. SO disappointed, this hotel should give me back the money I paid for the taxi which replaced the advertised but not operational shuttle. Stay elsewhere this place doesn't deserve your patronage.
