Edn Hotel Kearney

Every time I reserved thru hotwire for a "deal" I end up regretting it, and his is no exception (you'd think i'd have learned by now). We stayed one night (enough) to figure out we should've stayed elsewhere. First, when we checked in I noticed the extensive rules against smoking (even fining the occupier if their clothes smell like smoke and it its transferred to the bed/furniture they'd be fined), which I don't have a problem with as smoke smell is disgusting. BUT the hotel is permeated with "that smell" (curry) which is repulsive. Smoking = disgusting. Curry = repulsive. Next, when we used the east end door to unpack, the owners (I presume) are using the far east room as an apartment and living out of it, and had the their door wide open. So as we went in and out there were the owners family (again, I presume) eyeballing us. Nothing like a big "welcome" to the motel like being visually screened as we transferred our luggage in (and obviously this is where "that smell" is originating from). Personally, i find curry nauseating and was queasy from when we walked in until we left. So in conclusion, if you like curry, and want to get an up close of a family living there this place is for you.

Never again. No breakfast, although noted often online and in reviews; coffee machine is wonky and poured coffee on floor; most devices (e.g., lights, microwave) in room were unplugged; walls needs paint; AC was very loud; no person for check out at 6:30.

The room was small, one bed, but perfect for the two of us. It was nicely redone, clean, comfortable bed, heater that worked well on a very cold night, plus a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and hair drier were provided and all worked! The staff was friendly. A good breakfast was included as well as free internet access. It's not a five-star motel but we look for nice places that are a good value and this place fits the bill!

My wife and I found the accommodations to be very satisfactory. The room was clean and included a comfortable bed, nice shower, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, hair dryer, tv, and wifi at a reasonable price. An adequate complimentary breakfast was available to get us on our way in the morning. The only negative comment is that the paint on the bathroom door was chipped and needs to be repainted. The manager was friendly and accommodating. We will stay here again.
