Poipu Kapili

Just returned from a week at the Parrish Poipu Kapili Condos and it could not have been any better!! The location was great and the unit was outstanding. Everything that you could possibly want, when staying in a condo, was there. This property is extremely well kept up and we appreciate that. The unit was fully furnished with upscale furnishings throughout and I can't imagine there being anything else you would need. Well, maybe there is one thing and that would be beach towels. You have only one beach towel per person and for us, we would like to have at least 2. There are lots of beach things here, chairs, umbrellas, mats etc. so no shortage of beach supplies. The kitchen is extremely well supplied and not full of a mix of junky things like we have experienced in other condos we have stayed at. The bed was very comfortable and it was convenient also having 2 bathrooms. Parking was marked for the unit and parking was right in front of our unit, so nice and close. This was the second time we have rented from Parrish, different properties, and we have nothing but good things to say about them for both of our stays. From the time I first booked the reservation, to the time we checked out, all of our communications were excellent. We were always kept informed of any notices and information needed before arriving, during our stay and when ready to leave. Excellent service for our rentals. For what it is worth, I would not hesitate using Parrish again for our next rental.

Poipu Kapili has been a long time family favorite, having stayed there many time over the last 25 or more years. Usually we stay in Building #3 in the middle units (14-17), but we have stayed in the Penthouses in Building #5 (43-44) and while we loved the Penthouse units, especially the large lanais, we enjoyed even more the lanais in Building #3 to be able to pop in the pool easily and pop back out. The grills are at the pool as well, so that is convenient. The units are some of the largest 2 bedrooms in Poipu and we love the townhouse configuration. The resort is impeccably well maintained and the front office staff couldn't be more helpful, friendly or accommodating. We love the location, it is a very easy walk to both shopping centers and the beach in front of the Sheraton and is mostly quiet since Ho'onani Road isn't a very busy street. We feared the Koloa Landing resort would make the area busier and noisier, but it really hasn't since the KLR traffic uses Poipu Road. Parrish Kauai now manages many of our favorite units, and they have done a really great job in seeing the units remain updated, and refreshed. I can't say enough good things about this property.

We vacationed in July of 2022 with our two teens. The rental and property were beautiful. We stayed in Unit 12, it was gorgeous. The problem was parties that took place on the road in front of the resort at the seawall. The evening parties started at sundown and involved locals speeding and breaking in front of Poipu Kapili. Multiple trucks would then park along the seawall and kids would openly drink alcohol and blare rap music through amplified speakers with explicit language. We weren't able to sit outside on our patio or at the pool in the evening, and even with the windows closed, would hear the music and repetitive lewd language in the condo. We called Parrish Kauai multiple times, who has no jurisdiction, and they offered no remedy or compensation. We then called the police nightly who would clear out the party at some point only for the kids to return the next night. We knew every evening would be a nightmare. We chose Kauai for a quiet and peaceful destination. Our rental was extremely expensive and a huge splurge. The whole experience was traumatic, to be honest, and the worst vacation we've ever had. We tried switching to a hotel or other resort and everything was booked. After the first night of partying I did a deep internet dive and found other reviews. Somehow this is a little kept Poipu Kapili "hidden" secret. Do some more research and choose another location.

No doubt, Poipu Kapili is beautiful. We loved the grounds, the pool, and the unit (24)! What we did not appreciate was the thermostat for the air conditioning is programmed to not go below 73°. The unit is on the second floor, it gets very warm inside, and it’s humid. We had a problem with the air-conditioning during our stay - it broke down and they graciously brought us a portable air conditioner which we had in the bedroom for three nights, but left the rest of the unit quite warm. We stayed one night after the AC was fixed and discovered 73° is far too high for the thermostat to be set to be comfortable! We do not see this disclosed anywhere in the description that you cannot control the AC. We paid a lot to stay here and that was very disappointing. It was not even at the hottest time of the year that we stayed (May). I can’t imagine how hot it would be in late summer. As lovely as it was, for that reason we will never stay again. If air-conditioning isn’t important to you then this is a perfect unit, as it was quite comfortable with a lovely view.

We just returned from our family trip to Kauai. We rented two units, #56 and #2. Unit #56 was good. The furniture and bathrooms were what we expected. However #2 was not good. Everything in it was so dated. The bathrooms were most likely original and need to be replaced. There was a piece of plywood in the sofa, I don't know why. #Unit 2 is not worth the money. Parrish and Poipu Kapili should have inspections of the units and determine if they are up to the level of standards they want to be associated with. I have left a review with Parrish and also did a survey expressing my concerns about #2. They have not responded.

We stayed at Poipu Kapili #7. It was the perfect place for our family including a 2-year-old. The location is fantastic--right across the road from the ocean. Even though you can't swim there, it provides an incredible view and the sunsets are perfect. It's a VERY short drive to Poipu State beach and conveniently located to all you'd want to see on the south shore. The property is tasteful, calm, and lovely. Nice clean grills, tennis courts, and pool. Thanks for a dream vacation!

The problem with this condo complex is location. It’s fine if you just want to vegetate by the pool or walk to the shopping center. If you want to go to the beach, however, you have to walk 1/2 mile to join the mass of humanity at the Sheraton, or drive to a distant, less crowded location. There’s a nice ocean view from some parts of the complex, but the best time to enjoy it is the evening around sunset. Unfortunately that’s when locals park in mass along the street that runs between the complex and the ocean. We experienced a daily ritual of reved engines and partying that would go until dark.

Having never been to Hawaii we chose to visit Kauai upon recommendations from friends. I found the Parrish Group had many options and once I contacted them and spoke with one of their agents I felt confident in our choice. The front desk at Parrish Kauai was always in contact with me prior and during our stay in Kauai so, I felt like we were always being looked after. They made sure we had instructions for entry into our condo. Because I knew we would have a long day of travel , I used their concierge service to have some groceries placed into our rental before our arrival. Our rental was so nice, everything about it was spot on…so comfortable and clean upon arrival, excellent bathrooms and comfy bed, nicely stocked kitchen, beach chairs,& cooler and easy access to the pool and a great outdoor patio to enjoy at various times of day. I think the location of Poipu Kapali turned out to be a big positive for us. We walked to several restaurants and shopping areas from our location. The property itself was well kept, nicely landscaped and included amenities such as clean grills( both charcoal & gas) and tennis/ pickleball courts. I definitely would recommend the Parrish Group to anyone looking to have a satisfying experience in Kauai. Thank you so much for making our stay really special.

When something unexpected happens is when the true test of how good a place is. There was a bad leak from the unit above my daughters apt and there was sewage and flooding in their master bathroom and hallway and just barely missing my 2 month old grandson while sleeping. While they tried to change the condo and eventually did the communication was very poor and there seemed to be a lack of concern. There was no follow up to see if everything was ok. Not great customer service for a brand that markets luxury living.
