Hotel Asia Vaishno Devi

The booking was done by a member in our group. Couple of days before leaving for Katra I had checked reviews of Hotel Asia on the net. Not just one or two but there were many reviews. Mixed - while some said good things there were many that were totally negative of the hotel. I was confused as what to expect. So will share my perception of good and not so good. Seeing the picture I thought it would be a high rise ( 4-5 floors) structure. It is about ground and couple of floors but wide spread. Nice - rooms are not close to each other as in tall structure - So disturbance from rooms next door nor one is worried about disturbing your neighbour. Rooms - fairly big size, simple decor , neat & clean. we had booked 8 rooms and nobody had complaints on this topic. Aircondition was there but the old box window style - not split. Anyways the weather was pleasant & I did not switch on the AC, just fan. My room looked out into a green lawn patch. I could see the swimming pool too which was full. There was a small cupboard for clothes a hot water kettle with couple of dip dip tea sachets, Bailey water bottle. Bathroom spacious - hot water. Small soap bar, shampoo sachet and moisturising lotion bottle. the layout was reverse . Bathing area in front and WC right inside so the bathroom remains wet fully. Unusual feature - there was a big grey spider. Anyways told him that as long as he stayed in the bathroom - not come into the bedroom - I was ok. Turned out to be co-operative. Was hungry at 7 pm - went dining room. But they were still laying the buffet. Went back at 7.30, ordered a tawa roti & paneer capsicum vegetable. Both fresh, hot and tasty -not bland nor too spicy. In fact the other members in the group had dinner around 8.30 and they too were happy with their a la carte order. We checked out early next morning to go for Vaishno devi temple and then onto Jammu.

Every thing was excellent staff was helpful didn't face any challenge will book this hotel for my next trip also

Hotel Asia Vaishnodevi, Katra was a very horrible hotel. The rooms were very cosy and not very appealing. To get hot water in the bathroom, everytime we had to inform the reception. They keep it switched off everytime. The food was of very poor quality. I would give 0 rating for this hotel.
