Magda Hotel Club

We stayed at the Madga Hotel in April 2025 around Easter. Before I carry on I need to stress this Hotel is very French focused and I have complained to Jet2 as they shouldn't be offering the resort to English guests, literally everyone and everything is French. They make it clear they don't want to engage in English, yet the locals we interacted with were happy to (yes it is up to us to make an effort but we were in Crete not Paris). This did make us feel quite isolated at times. The hotel is quite modern, well kept and mainly clean although we did have dirty cups and plates left in the room for the duration of our stay and piled up dirty sheets and towels left outside. The cleaners smoke in the rooms when they are changing the towels etc making it quite unpleasant when you return. The hot food is terrible, there isn't really anything else to say about it. Luckily they have a salad bar that we used a lot, it was excellent! Lots of fresh salads, pastas, olives etc . In the afternoon they open a small pizza and waffle area. We used this most afternoons and especially enjoyed the pizzas. The pudding selection in the buffet was nice also. Drinks: my wife couldn't drink the cocktails, they are made with very strong syrups. Even I couldn't drink them so we stuck with the on tap beer and wine, think Boots homebrew kits from the 80s that will give you an idea of taste, but still drinkable. The hotel is in a good location, a short walk to the beach and the local Tavernas. The local busses are also in walking distance and are excellent. The very kind conductors made sure we had the right tickets and didn't miss our stop. Buses run every 20 minutes. We had a good day out in Heraklion. The hotel is nice and I can see why lots of people have left good reviews, unfortunately for us we were quite disappointed, I blaim Jet2 for this as I feel we shouldn't have been sold the package in the first place, the hotel was just catering for its target clientele at the end of the day

Un hôtel très accueillant, de part ses infrastructures, son personnel et ce qu’ils proposent. Ayant séjourné du 17 au 24 avril nous avons adoré. Le personnel est d’une gentillesse incroyable et répond à toute demande. Le buffet est varié et pour tous les goûts. Les animations sont également variées, les animateurs aiment ce qu’ils font et ça se voit! Ils parlent français, anglais et allemand et proposent pleins de choses qui conviennent aux petits comme aux grands. Il est bien situé, bien desservi par les bus, la plage par contre n’est pas très belle mais ce n’est qu’un avis personnel et qui m’importe peu. Bref si vous voulez un séjour détente, découverte pour souffler un peu n’hésitez pas!

Très bon hôtel avec un personnel adorable et compétent. Propreté, entretien, repas, tout est très bien. Le seul bémol aura été la piscine intérieure qui etait birn trouble et chaude le 1er jour puis qui n'était pas chauffée 1 jour mais nous n'avin pas réitéré... mais avec 5 piscines il y a le choix. Nous sommes parti 1 semaine en famille et recommandons ! De plus il est bien placé pour visiter a l'est ou a l'ouest. Merci à toute l'equipe Magda hôtel.

Superbe hôtel propre avec une nourriture diversifie, tout le monde est à l écoute et surtout une équipe d animation au top. Barbecue de folie 😜. Je conseil fortement en solo en couple ou en famille. A refaire et merci pour l acceuil du personnel.

Hôtel magnifique, d'une propreté irréprochable, nous avons été surclassés en chambre supérieure entièrement refaite, magnifique et fonctionnelle. Nourriture excellentes avec beaucoup de choix et rien à redire sur l'hygiène du restaurant. Extérieurs parfaitement entretenus. Le point fort de cet hôtel est sans aucun doute son personnel vraiment adorable et serviable, un petit coucou particulier pour les barmaid qui servent toujours avec un grand sourire et un petit mot en français ainsi que Valentina la dame qui faisait notre chambre. Had a great short break at Magda Hotel Club. We stayed in the premium area in a room with whirlpool. We arrived late at night and were given a warm welcome from Dimitri and personally escorted to our room and given lots of information. Over all we had a great stay and would recommend this hotel. Room The room was modern and exceptionally clean. We did encounter a couple of problems with the whirlpool but the reception team were very responsive in aiming to resolve this for us. The dedicated sun loungers for this area were a great bonus as it meant there wasn’t this usual rush to grab a bed first thing - we did notice a few people not staying in the premium rooms using the beds but as off peak season this wasn’t a problem however this would be quite annoying peak season if not monitored. Pool The pool areas were all very well maintained and very clean - pools were very cold given time of year but we did manage a couple of swims! Cleaners and maintenance team were out every morning making sure pools ready for use. Roof top pool was a great little sun trap. Bar was closed at this space but think due to us visiting at low season. Sun loungers were very comfortable. Food & Drink Drinks were average for an all inclusive. The cocktails were not your ‘standard’ choices and needed an acquired taste! - although measures were good and we still managed to sample most :) ! Beer and wine on tap were great as was the selection of on tap juices and other soft drinks. LOVED the fresh orange juicer at breakfast! Coffee from machine was disappointing and not the best quality. Food I would not rate as 4* but would still rate as good. There was a fair choice at breakfast with a hot selection along with fruit, yogurt and continental options. Lunch and dinner also offered a good choice of hot food - salad and dessert selections were pretty repetitive but could always find something suitable. Labelling wasn’t great if you are vegetarian or have allergies, but staff were available to talk to. The snacks available throughout the day were also good - freshly made pizza, cakes, sandwiches. Popcorn or nuts to have alongside eve drinks was nice touch. Entertainment This was the real let down for us, very little eve entertainment and what was laid on was mainly spoken in French so we struggled to take part. The Greek night was great with authentic music and dancing - getting all involved :) Didn’t see much of the daytime entertainment as this took place away from the area of the hotel we were staying in so didn’t get to hear about it, although there was a board with a timetable of events that could be referred to. Facilities Good facilities including indoor pool, jacuzzi and sauna. Wellness spa area looked good but we didn’t use this has we simply didn’t have the time! Pool table, table tennis, mini golf and tennis courts all great. Option to hire pool towels but there is small charge for this unlike other AIs we have stayed at who just take a deposit. Staff
