"Positives: superb beach, excellent cuisine, nice hotel. Main negative: cleanliness of pool with bridges near beach. Parents swim with babies or toddlers, despite there being a separate baby pool for them. Result, pool water smells like fecal contamination. This was the case on the first two days, after that stopped going to that pool ! On second night, child had a terrible stomach ache, I assume from swallowing such wayer, diving snd seimming in that dirty pool. Minor negative: a) some personnel too formal-distant, too stiff, uptight in my opinion. Both in uniform and attitude. A more relaxed attitude would be much appreciated. b) There is a loud speaker at Oassis beach bar, posted too low down. I banged head, first day and am not so tall. Told manager who acknowledged the need, in front of me. A few minutes later, seems he tild bar staff and they were laughing about this. Whatever it was not raised higher during my stay. c) Asked for a free juice in the manager's presence, for a child, at "platia" cafe at 22h30. Roughly thirty minutes later had not been divered to our table, which was very late, as child needed to go to bed. d) Outdoor gym equipment old and no good. This is in contrast to indoor gym equipment which is excellent. Overall is a pleasant family hotel, especially for kids because of aquapark. However, certain issues need to be improved."

"The room was very clean and comfortable. The balcony was very spacious. The only thing that let this hotel down was the breakfast. The choices were limited and what was meant to be cooked wasn’t or over cooked. The bacon cremated and the fried eggs were snotty and under cooked."

"Don't let photos on any website deceive you - this hotel needs updating and putting a larger television in the room will not help! This was supposed to be our annual family holiday - booked three rooms for 10 people in total. One of the rooms we upgraded to a VIP room with uninterrupted sea view on a high floor. We received a confirmation from the hotel only to find out on arrival (at 10pm) that we were given a ‘cheaper’ room. The receptionist admitted that this was a “big mistake” (kept on saying this) but not really offered an alternative. Fast forward and it is now 2am and we are still looking for a solution but there is no duty manager or general manager that is available (or wants to speak to us) - only the receptionist who at this stage has my wife in tears as there seems to be no solution and no apologies either. When we started looking at staying at another hotel - we finally were offered a room just for the night with promises of a better room the following day. We ended up in a room with interrupted sea view overlooking the Greek restaurant (with airconditioning noise and smell) as we were told that no other rooms were available. Apart from the buffet dinner each evening in the main restaurant Grecotel also offers you to have dinner at three of their “special” a la-carte restaurants. The Greek restaurant was simple food (not a lot of choice of mains) but the atmosphere was brilliant. Personally, I was looking forward to eating at the Asian restaurant which turned out to be another disappointment. Starters were lovely including pre-made sushi - for the mains all the meat except the salmon came from frozen. As a result, I ended up with a delicious thai curry sauce with deep-fried chicken instead of fresh chicken which was very disappointing. Then there is the Italian restaurant - we had a table with a lovely view outside but after an hour of waiting we still had no bread or drinks and at that point the heavens started to open. They moved us inside but that took about 20 minutes to set up. Next thing was that the food would take a little bit longer as we didn’t put our orders through in advance…. After showing them the food order we sent through including desserts for the children, we were told that they not always receive those emails? After 30 minutes the food arrived which was delicious – the question is do you have to wait almost two hours to have your meal especially if you have 4 children in the group? I did receive an email from the hotel during my stay (I think everyone gets one) if everything was okay. I told them what has happened and received an email that they would get in touch with me. Needless to say I never heard from them… This is one of these hotels that expect guests to be happy but if they are not the hotel staff can’t cope with it. It didn’t ruin the family holiday but there was a dark cloud hanging above it."
