Ramthara Fort

Wir waren hier leider nur für eine Nacht - gerne hätten wir noch einen weiteren Tag hier verbracht, zumal nur wenige Gäste da waren und es angenehm ruhig war und wir aus der sehr lauten Großstadt gekommen waren. Das ehemalige Fort liegt sehr schön auf einem Hügel mit toller Sicht auf das Umland und nahe einem ursprünglich erhaltenem Dorf, durch das *** fährt, um zu dem Fort zu kommen. Auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen, wenn *** dem Großstadttrubel für ein paar Tage entkommen und trotzdem nicht auf geschmackvollen Luxus, eine schöne Aussicht und gutes Essen verzichten möchte.

The service, the rooms, the food and the activities were superlative! We stayed here for2 nights as part of our Golden Triangle family holiday and wished we’d booked a few more days. Everyone was so welcoming - we enjoyed our trips out (to the village, on the lake, and to the buffer one where we were lucky enough to see a leopard close up). We also enjoyed the jacuzzi and day beds on the turrets, browsing for gifts in the shop and chatting to the owner to learn the history of the property. We recommend a stay here!

What a great stay, the food was excellent, the views simply stunning, the service impeccable and the place had such history, such atmosphere. We really enjoyed the two included events too - the walk around the local village (a highlight of our entire India trip and a real insight into the real life of rural India) and the boat trip on the lake at sunset.

A fabulous hotel, with incredible views from the walls. The room was very comfortable and the food delicious. If you are looking for peace and quiet, whilst being superbly looked after by attentive staff, then this heritage hotel is for you. The boat trip on the lake and village walking tour are led by extremely knowledgeable and friendly guides who go out of their way to make sure you see and learn all there is about this incredible destination

We had booked 3 nights here before we headed to Jaipur towards the end of a 3 week holiday touring around including a tiger safari so we were pretty tired and in need of some relaxation. This was the perfect spot. There is no swimming pool or spa but the owners have told us this is planned for the future. The views are breathtaking and its quiet and peaceful. You can go walking and boating on the nearby lake, do yoga on the roof/parapets, relax in the jacuzzi located outside one of the turrets or have a massage from one of the local village ladies. All food is included and is eaten in their beautiful outdoor dining area. They also have an Indoor dining room in case the weather is bad. There are numerous places to curl up with a book and relax. We had a luxury suite which had the most incredible balcony and outdoor tub both overlooking the valley below. There is a lovely gift shop selling clothes and gifts. The food is Indian and without fail, was delicious. At breakfast eggs bacon and sausages are available as well as fruit, but all other meals are Indian. All the staff are from the nearby village and we did the village walk one morning with a member of staff which was so worthwhile. It was one of the highlights of our entire trip. We also did the sunset boat trip on the lake which was lovely. On the first morning we did a walk around the lake on our own which was beautiful. All the staff there are fantastic (open, friendly, helpful, professional) as are the owners. We definitely plan to return. Thank you for such a wonderful stay.

A hotel of which I have extreme negative views, despite the fabulous nearby lake. I was left with a tinge of dissatisfaction after I visited the fort. Here are the list of pros & Cons Pros 1. Beautiful lake which gives a vibe of Kashmir 2. Sufficient number of activities which include jacuzzi, boat ride, jeep ride and camel ride which we got additional Cons 1. Food- It was so disappointing and single handedly ruined our trip. There was no vairiety in food and all we got in lunch and dinner were 2 veg sabzi, 1 non veg sabzi, daal and a desert, There was no starter nor soup in the food menu. Even the taste was very okayish 2. No telephone, TV or refrigerator in room. I had to go to reception for even basic stuff like extra toiletries 3. Racism- This fort is mostly visited by foreigners and due to large tips usually given by them I felt that the the lady owner of this fort was racist towards us 4. Distant location from major cities
